I am so bloody frustrated!

why is it so bloody hard?

All these sodding websites where the calender doesn't go beyond 2009.

And imposdible to just put in what i actually want.

And i can't find anything.

If i just go to a travel agent will it be £££££ more?

I agree, it must be difficult to book if you're living in a time warp!

LoveAndOtherIndoorSports · 11/07/2012 15:07

Yes 2009. All these bloody drop down calender boxy things are stuck on 2009 so i csn't put an actual real date in.

It is driving me nuts.

Online booking I find a nightmare. I have never found a cheap holiday on the date I want to go on. Hens teeth!

LoveAndOtherIndoorSports · 11/07/2012 15:13

Will the travel agent laugh at me for being poor?

Where are you going

Budget

SoleSource · 11/07/2012 15:16

I boked my first holiday abroad this year. I had NO idea that travel agents took payment via instalments. It is the norm these days the booking clerk told me. I went to Thomas Cook.

LoveAndOtherIndoorSports · 11/07/2012 15:24

Don't care where.
(but not turkey)

10/11/12. August. 7-10 nights.

Need peace and quiet. Preferrably villa but possibly small hotel/apartments.

4 of us (dds 14&16).

Absolutely no seaweed.

Budget as small as possible.

Teletext

I'm having a look now.

OldGreyWiffleTest · 11/07/2012 16:45

I think you are going to be hard pushed to find a beach without seaweed! Unless you go to a city, of course.

Almostfifty · 11/07/2012 16:48

Expedia have some beach deals. Have a look there.

mummymeister · 11/07/2012 16:52

you have left it quite late loveand.. for this summer. what is left are those that arent up to it hence the drop down calendar that is out of date. if you want uk then try lastminute-cottages or next6weeks.com or pick an area and go onto the tourist board website. if you dont want UK then why not just wait until a couple of days before and pick up a late late deal. real risk i know but it would be fun.

mosschops30 · 11/07/2012 17:23

Ok, if you go onto thomas cook and search for 2 adults and 2 children, 7 nights, from LGW it brings up 301 holiday.

Some as low as £1300 for all of you self catering.
Yes some look like complete dives, and some are in very noisy areas.
But there was one i saw for £1450 in Sa Coma in Majorca which is a quiet resort.

Really when you book a month before the busiest time of the year you cannot afford to be fussy.

LoveAndOtherIndoorSports · 11/07/2012 18:02

I'm not picky but......... Grin

Maybe book a couple of days before then. Would travel agent be best for that?

Turkey gives me a bad vibe. No idea why. Just can't go there.

Have you looked here for a villa/apartment? Then here for flights?

LoveAndOtherIndoorSports · 11/07/2012 18:23

Thanks for suggestions. Will have a good search tomorrow.

Just a thought - check that the current date is set correctly on your computer.

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 11/07/2012 18:43

Croatia?

Love the place. Just picked up good deal with Thomas Cook for two weeks time...

LoveAndOtherIndoorSports · 11/07/2012 18:44

Went to croatia last year. Just lovely. We had a really good time. No rows. No tears. Minimal seaweed. Would gladly go again.

Decide where you want to go to. Search for independent accommodation in that place via google (most resorts and/or islands have their own websites with accommodation pages). Look on Trip Advisor to ensure there aren't any consistently awful reviews of the place. Then book your flights and confirm accommodation.

Much, much cheaper than package deals IME.

BTW, for beautiful beaches without seaweed and with plenty of space even in mid-August try Naxos in the Greek Islands.
