sorry a bit of a rant more than anything and sooooo trivial but annoying....
dp is upstairs stripping wallpaper off the landing. Have just come downstairs from putting dd to bed, tv is still on, so have changed the channel to something I want to watch. Dp has come storming downstairs shouting how he was watching that and how I really need to check before I change the channel. I asked how he can be watching it if he's upstairs, and its recording anyway so he wont miss any! In the process of this strop he's woken up dd and TOLD me to go and settle her back down!!!!
AIBU to be narked with him?!

YANBU - but did he mean he was listening to that?

50ShadesOfGreggs · 10/07/2012 21:42

My second time tonight:

Leave the bastard! :o

Next!

Johnnydeppsnewmrs · 10/07/2012 21:43

Oooo, what Greggs said!

amieis · 10/07/2012 21:47

50shades its tempting!!!! And johnnydepp I don't see how he could be cuz the lounge (thus tv) is at the back of the house, he's in the front bedroom, and tv is barely audible! He only noticed I was changing channel cuz the virgin box makes a stupid noise when you go to the tv guide and he happened to be going to the bathroom when I flicked!!!!!!!!!!!

In the winter (coz its dark) i can stand staring out my kitchen window n watch the tv in the living room.

However unless ur dh has some sort of hearing/ seeing superpowers he is BU.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 10/07/2012 21:52

He's being out of order. If he's coming back in the room after leaving something he was watching to put dd to bed, then I think it's fair enough that he gets to put it back on, but not until he's a tally in the room!

Was he maybe doing one do those bedtimes where you just have to lie down quietly for a while? Could he have been listening to the TV?

Either way, he shouldn't be ranting about it!

amieis · 10/07/2012 21:56

outraged I was putting dd to bed, as she feeds to sleep, and he's stripping wallpaper

Next time you go to the cinema, you can tell him he can save you both some money and sit outside to watch the film.

amieis · 10/07/2012 22:07

dahlen we don't got to the cinema cuz he thinks its a waste of money! I'm even more annoyed now because you've made me realise how he constantly moans at me for leaving things on when I'm not in the room and when he does it its fine!

I "watch" TV from the back room or the kitchen (actual TV is in the front room) while I'm cooking or working, and get hacked off when somebody changes the channel. But in my case, I can actually hear the dialogue and step in to see if there's a super exciting bit. But your DH sounds like he was just being annoying.

kinkyfuckery · 10/07/2012 23:23

Is this an isolated incident? I'm thinking not?

2rebecca · 10/07/2012 23:43

If my husband shouted at me about something as trivial as TV channels he wouldn't be my husband. He wasn't watching the TV, the kids were in bed so the volume shouldn't be blaring out round the house anyway. He either watches the TV in the same room or he doesn't.
I hope you made him settle down the child he disturbed. Has he had too much to drink to be that obnoxious?

Johnnydeppsnewmrs · 10/07/2012 23:45

If he can't hear it, YANBU.

lovebunny · 11/07/2012 00:22

ditch him. too controlling. the ex once went berserk because i'd taken a chocolate from the second tray of chocs in a box. the box was a birthday present to me. not from him. so not his business at all. he had to go.

Johnnydeppsnewmrs · 11/07/2012 00:25

You did right LB, that is the whole point of having two layers IME.

amieis · 11/07/2012 12:54

he doesn't drink, he's just a complete arse when he wants to be
