to think that the FB linky button is mostly used as a shortcut to having a good ol private gossip about threads on Mumsnet

and not as a tool to spread the word amongst our friends and fofs about how great Mumsnet is (like what hq surely intended)?

what Gandhi said. people have always linked to fb, used to be through c&p, now its the recommend button. at least now you know how many times the thread has been shared.

I've only seen it used a couple of times, and then it was in a "isn't MN great and supportive?" sort of way, not in a "let's laugh at the numpties" sort of way.

But 7 people have FB linked to this thread. Is that a record?

Never ever occurred to me...

Altho I did notice once that a thread had about six likes or whatevers and wondered where on earth that appeared. Do they appear on whoever clicks on them's fb page then?
