We are on holiday in the Lake District and the in-laws are staying 2 nights with us. We ordered takeaway from what is supposed to be a very nice Indian restaurant in the next town and DP and his sister went to collect it.
When they got back we discovered we have no vegetarian dish (I am vegetarian), no nutless main dish (DP is allergic) and some random king prawns. We also have some dips but no poppadoms and the wrong nan bread.
I rang and expressed mild annoyance about this and they were very apologetic and graciously invited us to keep the king prawns and come back for the other items. After I pointed out that we had already trecked over to them once they said they would try and sort out delivery and call us back. They kept not calling us back and whenever I rang they said it would be just a couple of minutes.
Now DP is normally spectacularly placid. I am the shouter and waver of arms. He has just stared at the table in silence for a minute, then picked up the prawns, the dips and the nan bread and stalked out, still in utter silence, got into the car and driven off, still clutching the prawns.
AIBU to be a little alarmed about what he is planning to do with the prawns?
Is this the straw that broke the camel's back? Is he about to go on some kind of prawn-fuelled, rage-filled rampage through the streets of Cockermouth? Am I about to get a call from the police informing me that he is running amok hurling mango chutney at innocent passers-by?
