To think my next door neighbour should clean up after his own dog!

Bloody next door's dog keeps coming over in to my garden and having a shit! Now, I don't have a dog and I've caught the dog coming in to my garden - having to shoo him off.

I always have to clean up the bloody mess which I think the neighbour should do as it's his dog doing it!

Pick it up in a piece of paper and chuck it back - preferably close to his back door.

JeezyPeeps · 07/07/2012 11:00

Can't you make sure that the dog can't get into your garden - put up a fence maybe?

But no, YANBU. He should really be making sure thd dog is secure in his garden and not able to wander elsewhere.

Mrsjay · 07/07/2012 11:01

If he isnt listening to you phone the local dog warden they will come and have a word with him he cant leave shit in your garden ,

EndangeredOtter · 07/07/2012 11:02

Leave it on his doorstep

HecateHarshPants · 07/07/2012 11:02

"Thank you. I'll wait here while you get your shoes on." and stand there.

I told my neighbour last week to keep his dogs contained in his garden because I was sick of them doing a poo every morning on the grass outside my front door. I told him I was sick of cleaning it up and I was going to start giving it back to him. I think he thought I might just be lobbing it into his garden, but actually today I took it and put it just in front of his front door, so he can have the same experience as me first thing in the morning when he steps out of his front door. I'll continue to do this until he keeps his dogs under control and they stop shitting on my grass.

It cost me a fortune for me to put up fence around my back garden to stop his dogs coming in and pooing, it's not possible to do it for the front of the house because it's a lane that the farmers need to use to drive up and down to see to the cows etc.

I will say that I am a dog owner, I walk my dog for miles every day, I clean up his poo so it's not bothering anyone else and he's never allowed to roam the village unsupervised.

I would say once you've asked him nicely and complained then if he doesn't make any attempts to change things then you are quite at rights to return his dog's poo to hi

Huffles · 07/07/2012 11:06

Returning the dog poo it is then - cheers all! :o

Give him a taste of his own medicine.

Good luck!

ophelia275 · 07/07/2012 11:50

I would just throw it back over and put up some sort of fence to stop the dog coming in.

Angelico · 07/07/2012 12:04

Throw it back first - I like the doorstep idea but only after talking to him again. After that I would go dog warden on his ass :o

But do remind him again first. My brother has a cat and it was pooping in a neighbour's garden. They just left it one night on his front doorstep but had never said a word - it was so fucking passive aggressive. He would have gone round like a shot to clean it up if they had said but they told him and to this day he doesn't know which freak neighbour did it. Presumably the cat still shits there.

We lived in a group of maisonettes with 4 sharing one garden. one neighbour had a massive dog that he used to just let out into the garden to poo everywhere and terrorise us when we went to get the washing in. the other 3 of us tried all the approaches: friendly word, phone call, not so friendly word etc. then one neighbour went round the garden collected all the poo and piled it on his step. he trod in it (we heard the swearing) and after a few days of shouting at us all decided perhaps he better move. job done!

HeadfirstForRomance · 07/07/2012 15:18

Call the dog warden, your neighbour isn't taking his dog owning responsibilities seriously if he is allowing his dog onto your property.

At our old house my neighbours dog used to get into our garden and growl menacingly at us! When I tried to mention it they just laughed it off the fuckers.
I was young and wimpy then, if it happened now I'd tear them a new arsehole Grin

Pandoralight · 07/07/2012 16:06

I'd be tempted to go and shit on his doorstep to see how he liked it Wink

GingerWrath · 07/07/2012 16:20

Put it in a paper bag, put it on his doorstep, set fire to it, ring his doorbell.......

Sparklingbrook · 07/07/2012 16:32

Ooh a dog poo thread. We haven't had one for a while. Makes a change from those pesky cats. Grin
