I think the media has a lot to do with stirring up crap that people swallow and I think people will have their own personal, misguided reasons for being racist.

I also only use MN once in a blue moon to do something like this. I was wondering how many people would make a joke out of the very serious matter that is the edl, nf, the bnp and all the other neo Nazi splinter groups. I know what you're saying OP. My son was racially attacked a couple of years ago, just 3 minutes from home by a gang who held a knife to his throat...went through his pockets and stole his phone and his money.

They thought it was hilarious that around 15 of them should shout racist insults at him and strut away slowly with his phone, as though no-one could touch them.

By the time the Police got there, they were long gone and so no-one did touch them for it

I can only hope they didn't learn that sort of hatred at home and that if their parents knew what they'd done, they'd be just as mortified as I was.

It wasn't really the use of the word 'Nazi'...it was more of the 'they're everywhere' type of thing.

You're right of course they are everywhere but that's because human beings are everywhere....and some of them are racist.
