I need a rant.

Ive just come back from holiday, i was due on my period the day we went so took norewhatsit to stop my period. it was ace. I could wear shorts, go swimming etc. and it was boiling, so it was so nice to not have to worry.

now my period has started and fucking hell, its so heavy and painful. last night I nearly passed out. I flooded 2 towel and tampons in an hour. passed a clot the size of a 50p and have a migraine thanks to not sleeping.

The Rage is impressive. I have cried twice today and have been clenching my teeth so hard. I am so angry, I dont think I can speak to anyone.

I really want an argument. or to cry. or to sleep. or to be sick.

fuckit.

yabu.

yanbu.

i'm not sure ... you scare me so am afraid to say either way.

hope you enjoyed the holiday though.

PooPooInMyToes · 05/07/2012 10:09

Ah poor you! What was it you took?

I took the pill a couple of times (not usually on it) to delay my period whilst on holiday and i became really forgetful and weird. My period was very heavy afterwards as well and i lost of couple of lumps which were like solid flesh rather than a clot!

I feel for you, I have to take that twice a year as I have no periods and need it to trigger them. I always feel awful for the time I'm taking it and about three weeks after, really nasty stuff.

EverythingsPosie · 05/07/2012 10:09

What did you take to stop your period? I didn't know you could do that.

WorraLiberty · 05/07/2012 10:10

I have nothing to add, other than I love your nickname Grin

Blueoctopus · 05/07/2012 10:11

Assuming you mean norethisterone

TheDancingPilchard · 05/07/2012 10:12

it was norethisterone. holiday was great, but this is so not worth it. I have a tan, but Im pale and crappy looking UNDER the tan.

everyone has been avoiding me this morning. I must have the "fuck off" look stuck on my face.

EverythingsPosie · 05/07/2012 10:12

Is it just from the GP? Do they just prescribe because you don't want your period on holiday? I never knew you could do that.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 05/07/2012 10:14

I'm due on.

I have a spot brewing on my face. A big one.

Can't rant, keyboard still fucked.

Taken me a very long time to type this. Sad

TheDancingPilchard · 05/07/2012 10:16

posie, yep. its on prescription. you take 3 a day for however long.

ABF, come and join me in the scary corner.

LadyofWinterfell · 05/07/2012 10:17

Yes Posie, I've had it for the last two years because i was due while camping! I get very emotional on it, but my periods aren't any heavier thankfully.

mangomadness · 05/07/2012 10:19

I had to take that for over a year, didn't completely stop my bleeding.

Have you got any glass bottles that you can throw and smash recycle at a bottle bank? I always find it strangely satisfying.

TheDancingPilchard · 05/07/2012 10:20

dh works for a packaging manufacturer. I have asked him to bring home bubble wrap.

EverythingsPosie · 05/07/2012 10:21

But your GP thinks that not wanting your period on holiday is a good enough reason to prescribe?

My GP is an arsehole quite stringent with his prescriptions and I think he'd tell me to be on my bike and not waste NHS money, but then he doesn't want to prescribe anything ever!

TheDancingPilchard · 05/07/2012 10:23

my gp offered it, but she is stonkingly lovely. I dont know if you can get it from boots.

slartybartfast · 05/07/2012 10:26

and coming back from holiday tends to make peope in a bad mood anyway.

blisterpack · 05/07/2012 10:27

Posie everyone on MN seems to take them so that they don't get their periods on holiday. They even make their teenage daughters take them.

(Going by the threads I've seen lately)

slartybartfast · 05/07/2012 10:27

dig the garden, or somethign strenuous, used to help me

Blueoctopus · 05/07/2012 10:31

My GP says it is not to be prescribed on a whim and wont give it me on repeat ( even though that would be so much easier for us both) because he has known women share it for stopping periods.

ELR · 05/07/2012 10:31

My periods are like that nearly every month and I am anemic from so much blood loss each month.
I feel your pain!!! At least you enjoyed your holiday which is always a good thing.

EverythingsPosie · 05/07/2012 10:32

Blister I practically live on MN so I don't know how I have managed to miss this, I've never heard of it before.

Can't imagine the response from the GP is I said I didn't want my period on holiday, he is famous locally for not wanting to prescribe anything unless he really has no choice. I bet none of the MNetters around here are getting norethisterone!

ELR · 05/07/2012 10:33

I like the bottle bank idea!
