to be pissed off that "someone" is incapable of shutting a gate.....

meaning dh and I have just spent the last hour getting soaked trying to return 12 cows to their field. Its not even as if anyone should have been through it ffs (no footpath) Its definately been left open as even our cows aren't smart enought to undo a chain and clip Hmm

I have better things to do than sort out a mess that someone else caused through A) being where they shouldn't be and B) not having the gumption to shut the bloody gate!

Anyway rant over, cows are back where they should be and not running on the main road Shock and I am going to have a bloody large gin.

That's crap. Surely everyone knows to close gates, especially when there are animals in the field!
Put up a sign saying beware of the vicious cows-they bite and kick. That ought to do it! Smile

Think thats the next move but why should we have to?

Fwiw I haven't got a problem with folks in the field - just shut the gate when you come out - it doesn't take many brains to look at cows in field and think oh maybe the gate is shut for a reason.

What makes it worse is that its the maternity girls who were let out and as we all know pg ladies running round is not good news. Fingers crossed they (and bubs) are all ok......

Had this happen at another farm several years ago when 20 plus in-foal mares got out on the main road at rush hour thanks to some walkers - had 2 pts at the side of the road and 4 aborted Sad

Might just be over sensitive but large animals and vehicles DO NOT mix.

YABNU - why the locks - cows don't use them and people should know to shut gates. I suppose the Country Code is too alien a concept to be taught these days.

I like "make no unnecessary noise". Yes you group of 50 ramblers out on a Sunday.
