Not that I have evidence of anyone actually being this stupid, but given that some people really don't listen to the lyrics of songs and just go by the title, can you imagine going to a wedding and seeing the B&G get up to Would you not piss yourself?

I actually experienced negativity from people who didn't know the lyrics of my chosen song. We signed the register and walked out of the Reg Office to God Only Knows by the Beach Boys. Yes, the first line is "I may not always love you", but if you keep listening it does make sense!

What's worse is I used to have a jacket like that singer was wearing - the shame

Worst song for a first dance at a wedding we went to was U2s "I still haven't found what I'm looking for"! Mind you the dj had put the wrong U2 track on. Sorry but we just were rolling on the floor with laughter.(Bride and groom not close friends)

Hooble That's a shame about the negativity you experienced. God only knows is going to feature in our wedding - possibly cutting the cake. It's a brilliant sentiment and reminds me of when Mr. P and I hadn't been together that long and he emailed me some of the lyrics.

I don't think it matters what the sentiment of the lyric is as long as it's chosen together by the bride and groom with no outside pressures, means something to them and they love it. Sod what everyone else thinks.
