DP and I have a big DIY job to do that's going to take at least a fortnight.

Since neither of us are the least bit interested in this huge commercial event that's going to take over normal life, we've been collecting all the materials together and will be getting on with it while the rest of the world is glued to the TV.
We will have achieved something positive instead of wasting a couple of weeks of our lives.

I'm going to be having a baby and cuddling a newborn, so will be far too busy for the Olympics too! Grin

That's great that you will get your DIY done.

Me, I hate DIY and will be watching and attending as much as possible. Love the Olympics.

I am a bit worried that we are going to make a huge cock up of organising it though.

Unlikely - the planning has been really professional. Things will go wrong, and the press will latch on to them, rather than all of the things which go right.

I think it's exciting and fantastic for GB - not just London!

I hope so aj. I really want us to get it right to show everyone how great we can do things.

I would rather pay someone to do the DIY as it's a complete waste of my Olympic watching time IMHO but hey ho, there's nowt as queer as folk who DIY

limitedperiodonly · 03/07/2012 11:43

I am too.

My cunning plan was to concentrate on events that no-one else wants to see such as tae-kwondo and badminton rather than wasting time on things I obviously wouldn't get a sniff at such as athletics, boating, swimming and cycling.

My mum is a Jonah who's predicting disorganisation and traffic chaos.

We're going together so there'll be something for us both to enjoy Grin
