To think this is inappropriate for a 5 year old?

Ok here goes ds is nearing the end of yr 1 at primary school. One of the mums in his class has been boasting about her "xpole"(which has been "erected" in the front room!) and wants to host an Ann summers party next weekend. Tbh it's not my bag and it doesn't sit easy with me to have your dc subjected to all that jazz! Aibu?

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 26/06/2012 22:19

Has she invited her child to attend then?

CoffeeBucks · 26/06/2012 22:19

Is the 5 year old going to be at the party?

HeadfirstForHalos · 26/06/2012 22:19

Is the mums child hosting the Ann Summers party? Confused

CoffeeBucks · 26/06/2012 22:19

xpost Worra

WorraLiberty · 26/06/2012 22:20

Oh right, she's invited your child?

uselesslife · 26/06/2012 22:20

Maybe it should be 50yr old?!

ProcrastinateWildly · 26/06/2012 22:21

Is the op referring to the fact that the pole is in the living area, presumably in sight of the dc?

ImperialBlether · 26/06/2012 22:21

Hmm well I think the pole might hurt your son, if he's not careful.

LentillyFart · 26/06/2012 22:21

It's not full moon so what's going on tonight? It's just wall to wall howling insanity!

But since you ask OP I'm good with kids going to sex parties and doing a little light pole dancing. What's not to like?

ImperialBlether · 26/06/2012 22:21

Why would anyone buy from Ann Summers via a friend, when they could buy whatever they wanted completely anonymously online?

LemonMousse · 26/06/2012 22:22

What's an xpole? Like a pole dancing pole? 5 year old probably enjoys playing Fireman Sam with it.

As long as she's not doing naked erotic dancing around it while DC watches cbeebies and DC is 'out of the way' for the Ann Summers shindig I don't see a problem?

CoffeeBucks · 26/06/2012 22:22

I'd be worried I'd kick the TV in if I was pole-dancing in my front room. Maybe mention that to her.

dearprudence · 26/06/2012 22:23

Eh? Confused

VickityBoo · 26/06/2012 22:24

Dd(almost 4) would love that! She is obsessed with spinning around the rotary line in the garden!!

jubilucket · 26/06/2012 22:24

I don't 'do' Ann Summers parties, but then I always refuse selling parties full stop, Jamie Oliver overpriced cooking gadgets, tupperware, chocolate... all that crap. So that bit YANBU.
I'm not certain what an xpole is - is one of those poles that scantily dressed dancers wriggle around against in the sort of clubs we'd really rather our daughters didn't work in when they grow up?

HeadfirstForHalos · 26/06/2012 22:26

I'm crying at the image of the 5 yr old playing Fireman Sam Grin

jubilucket · 26/06/2012 22:26

bloody hell 15 xposts! Beats own record, but dd2 wandering around refusing to go to bed didn't help.

Are you absolutely sure she doesn't mean she's got an erect Pole in her room?

Does he go by the name of Aleksy? Or Vlad?

If so then YANBU

If she wants to slide up and down him on a weekend, she's best doing that in private.

Thought call me a prude if you will...

HeadfirstForHalos · 26/06/2012 22:28

I'm also liking how the OP put "erected" in quotation marks Grin

HeadfirstForHalos · 26/06/2012 22:29

An "X" rated erect Pole...

CurrySpice · 26/06/2012 22:31

I can imagine it wouldn't be easy to sit on a pole!

edam · 26/06/2012 22:32

You know how many Yr 1 classes have a class soft toy - wouldn't it be lovely if theirs was a rabbit? Grin

uselesslife · 26/06/2012 22:33

Grin worrra!!
Erect Pole, Aleksy!!
Hilarious

ReportMeNow · 26/06/2012 22:34

Is an Xpole for practising XMen/PowerRanger flying kicks?
