Is it just me or did Natalie Cassidy hesitate when asked if she pays all of her childcare costs?

Yes I know IABU to be watching daytime TV I'm on holiday and I am BU to care what Natalie Cassidy does but if she is getting her childcare subsidised is it fair when there are so many parents who struggle with childcare costs?

She wouldn't get her childcare subsidised....she earns far too much.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 26/06/2012 10:52

Why would they ask her that?? Who really cares?

HildaOgden · 26/06/2012 10:53

Does she really earn a lot?I doubt it,what does she actually work at?Serious question,by the way.

UtterlyButterly · 26/06/2012 10:55

When asked about childcare vouchers she said she 'thinks' she pays for childcare in full Hmm

Betty I don't care about her tbh I just noticed and wanted to get some views on 'celebs' getting help they don't need.

She probably doesn't know, she'll have an accountant. You usually have to be salaried to get childcare vouchers.

nilbyname · 26/06/2012 10:57

Maybe she is thinking about the 15 hours everyone gets fro free from 3 plus? Or maybe she is thinking about tax free vouchers.

elliejjtiny · 26/06/2012 11:05

It's probably just that she pays someone to do her finances so she has no idea how much she pays. It's like celebrities who don't know how much a pint of milk costs.

Socknickingpixie · 26/06/2012 11:21

Lots of employees get subsidised childcare as a form of income this is considered and often taxed as a perk by hmrc YABU to over think about it

TheSpokenNerd · 26/06/2012 11:22

Has she left Eastenders then? Or on Maternity leave? If she's on ML then she'll be getting plenty.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 26/06/2012 11:24

Shes entitled to child benefit even though she probably doesn't need it.

She deserves support from her government as much as anyone else does. So does every other celebrity and high earner.

Socknickingpixie · 26/06/2012 11:27

outraged I'm not sure that it's gov subsidised chilcare that is the issue I think it's just subsidised

Socknickingpixie · 26/06/2012 11:28

If it actually is

HecateAdonaea · 26/06/2012 11:30

perhaps she hesitated because she thought it was an intrusive question and was momentarily taken aback? (I didn't see the interview, I'm just speculating0

HecateAdonaea · 26/06/2012 11:30

bloody damn ) key.

Blurgirl · 26/06/2012 11:31

I loved it when she said "I don't understand" - she sounded so thick!

Blurgirl · 26/06/2012 11:32

Also in answer to the OP's question, she's probably too rich to care.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 26/06/2012 11:41

If its privately subsidised then there is even less reason for anyone to moan about perceived unfairness.

typicalvirgo · 26/06/2012 11:44

Actually i don't know how much a pint of milk costs

and I'm no slab Grin

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 11:46

but she doesn't really work that much does she maybe she gets tax credits

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 11:47

she left eastenders about 5 years ago Grin

squoosh · 26/06/2012 11:47

'celeb' doesn't always equate with lots of cash.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 26/06/2012 11:48

She probably paused because she was waiting for her synapses to kick in

AmberLeaf · 26/06/2012 11:50

I've not watched it for yonks but didn't she leave eastenders years ago?! (Someone asked upthread)

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 11:52

yes she left with martin and chloe/rebecca cant remember the story but they left in a cab not long after pauline was killed,

Cokeaholic · 26/06/2012 11:57

I'd hazard a guess that she receives her income through a limited companyof which she is an employee and therefore eligible to receive childcare vouchers saving tax on her income.

She won't have a clue her accountant will attend to it all (for a fee)
