Bitchy...

1. I find her subjects boring and trite

2. her journalism so petty and childish and ridiculous makes subjects even worse

3. I find it repugnant when she or anyone else in the media makes rude/derogatory comments about people with learning difficulties,....That ALONE should get her the sack

4. there are so many wonderful interesting writers out there - and loads doing great blogs...why/how has this woman still got a job?

yes will look at others - there are millions of amazing journos out there, bloggers - writers - those in journo school, WHY does this woman have a job?

Sam Brick is controversial - so she gets read - or commented on, but MOST people just moan like me at how boring and trivial liz is...thats not good coverage.....such a shame she is hogging someones chance.

AND i just dont know where disabled groups are when someone like her makes such rude comments about people with LD. I think her comment was DISPICABLE and highly offensive...where are the disabled groups lobbying about this....

change the people with LD serving to people of asian origin or the like or gays serving in a rude way - there would be a MASSIVE outcry!!!! Public apolgy issued etc

I think I have read three articles and had the misfortune to glance at a few others.

Its not just a question of not reading it - I think its morally repugnant for her to make continued derogatory remarks about diabled people, and running them down and making it OK to make rude remarks about them...in general...

It goes quite deep really....aside from her other drivel.

Nancy I used to LOVE you Mag and would buy the mail on sunday because of it - I dont any more - on line now I glance at the mail, the independant and the telegraph and very occasionally the Guardian. I dont rely on one paper for my info if I want it....

When I asked you about what offensive comment she'd made on another thread (that you started about Liz Jones - the journalist you hate and don't read) you couldn't rememer what it was and had to go and look it up.

I am guilty of reading her column when I'm at my mother-in-laws who loves the DM. Generally I hate the frigging paper but what is it about it that compels me to flick through it?

I have to confess I enjoy her column - she does come across as completely barking but clearly knows it - but she always makes me laugh which is more than I can say about most other journalists.

That's the point of Liz Jones - you're meant to love to hate her.

yabu to read DM not only is it right wing brain washing xenophobic crap but its poorly written lazy journalism.

I remember a few months ago when she wrote an article about visiting Africa. She was talking about how badly the farmers treated their donkeys and that if they didn't work them in to the ground then her coffee would have been delivered quicker. I was shocked that she had witnessed all this deprivation where a lot of people in Africa don't even have enough food or clean water and all she cared about was her coffee.

I don't actually hate her...sometimes I feel quite sorry for her - she seems quite unhappy with her lot in life! But I like the way she writes in quite a to-the-point way and then moves on. And talks about her animals...

Strangely, I'm a staunch Guardian fan so obv I should detest everything about the DM but sometimes I need a break from the seriousness of the Guardian.

Don't get me started on the rest of You magazine. Most of the other articles just about tip me over the edge they are often so depressing.

I'm a dyed in the wool DM reader, I'm happy to admit. I don't really care if anyone has a problem with that. I do love to hate Liz though, but I'm fairly convicts that's the whole idea.

I wish she'd start a spreadsheet though, her memory isn't up to remembering all her little embellishments.

I sarted this thread as I saw somewhere else someone had noted that her coloumn or whatever had made an very clear condradiction on itself.

It just occured to me to wonder if anyone else actually liked her.

I didnt come on to write a thesis on Liz, cross referencing back to old articles, archived away...... and write a detailed paper on her.

She has made repeated rude references to people with LD and if you dont belive me, there is at least evidence above of ONE.

ONE rude offensive comment however is enough - and is disgusting to make to people who have LD.

It makes me SICK that a woman as FOUL as her - as shallow and ugly and trivial and un talented as she is - poured forth in an article she made MONEY FROM, made an abusive remark about someone with LD.
