OH's parents live far away. When he was away, I made sure to Skype them so they could see the kids. They won't/don't visit us - not sure why - and this has been a source of upset to OH.
Now he is here, I leave it to him to get in touch with his parents. Since they are so far away, I haven't really got much of a relationship with them and it's hard to keep chat going while trying to get the kids to be interested in chatting to them. If OH is busy at the weekend (when Skype would happen) and I see them online, I will call them but they are rarely actually at their computer despite "being online".
He says I should call them on their landline to ask them to come on Skype but I have said that I don't really feel that I should be the one chase his parents - beacause 1. we are predictably online and available on weekend mornings so if they want to see us, they can be there, 2. I don't have much to say to them to sustain the call 3. if they do need to be chased then OH can do it.
Am I being unreasonable?
