I used to drink somewhere between a half to a whole bottle of wine most nights and feel fed up and cheesed off if I was "on the wagon" self imposed for a week or month but I read Allen Carr easy way to control drinking and i haven't even wanted any wine, not even when DH has continued to have a glass or two a night (I used to finish the bottle), no urge, faintly repulsed by the idea if anything. I may never drink again and it feels good Grin

I so need to do this, I know I drink to much wine.

Is the book really worth buying?

FauxFox · 23/06/2012 15:38

I think so, check out the Amazon reviews and decide for yourself though, i'm not trying to sell it I'm just so pleased i've sorted myself out Grin

Thanks Euphemia Blush

fauxfox why not post on the "Brave Babes" threads in relationships. Lots of people on there who could benefit from your help. Well done you

DunkyWhorey · 23/06/2012 22:14

Well done!

Loads of calories in the old wine, never mind cancer/liver and cost!

Mmm wine

DunkyWhorey · 23/06/2012 22:15

I wouldn't necessarily post in Brave Babes btw. Sure, you could, but it may sound kinda trite. Many of the babes would have tried Alan Carr, but have needed something "more", many have had to do medical detoxes etc. So by all means post but bear that in mind.

Does your skin look better? I have been caning it lately and my skin is poxy.

garlicbum · 23/06/2012 22:35

YANBU! Congratulations :)

It's surprising how little difference it does make, isn't it? NowThen: people kept saying how lovely my skin looked when I was totally sober. Can't say I noticed but, apparently, they did.

FauxFox · 23/06/2012 23:01

Yes NowThen I was all spotty and congested and it's definitely improving (especially notice it first thing in the morning - much less 'dull' iykwim).

The best bit so far is getting so much more done of an evening whether it's working, ironing or staying awake through a whole film - i love it! I also feel less bloated and although I don't weigh too often I think i've dropped a lb or two Smile

I won't post in Brave Babes, they seem like quite a switched on bunch i'm sure Allen Carr won't be new to them and I wouldn't want to butt in...

Ooh, yes. I am dead spotty and blotchy. Ditching the wine this week anyway, as skint, but may go a bit longer, just to see. You have inspired me!

EclecticShock · 23/06/2012 23:09

I bet it frees up a lot of time :)

FauxFox · 06/07/2012 18:53
