THAT ALWAYS LEAKS?! For the third time today I have just found myself coated in poop as this certain brand never manages to contain the poo? No matter how small the amount, it always ends up on the outside!!!!
No wonder the supermarket baby clubs give them away free, cuz no-one in their right mind should pay for them Angry

Why do you keep buying them then?

Cheeser · 16/06/2012 19:47

What's the brand?

HeadfirstForHalos · 16/06/2012 19:48

I've never rated the big brand nappies. I've found Boots, Sainsburys and Tescos own to be consistently good. I switched to them with my eldest after a few months of leaks, but everytime over 9 years and 4 dc I've ended up buying a brand pack they've been useless.

SuddenlyMadameGlamour · 16/06/2012 19:49

Asda's own are the best. Huggies always leak ime.

amieis · 16/06/2012 19:51

I didn't buy them worra , they came free from the asda baby club!!! Thought I'd give them a fair go, as maybe it was a one off, but having only used them for a couple of days I DEFINITLEY won't be ever wasting any money on them Hmm

The ones beginning with P always leaked with my DC. I always bought the new-born size thinking "they are the best" but then I'm very gullible to advertising.

For supermarket brands I like Asda and Lidl.
Can't stand Morrissons- they always leak.

TenaciousOne · 16/06/2012 19:57

Huggies work for us, pampers leaked every time for us, stuck to DS and he always feels damp in them so we dont use them. Sainsburys little Ecos are ok but not for nights.

Tamisara · 16/06/2012 19:58

I agree Thejoyful I recently converted to Sainsbury's own brand. I liked the Baby Dry ones the best, but you can't get them now, so I'm using Little Explorer ones, only £2.44 a pack (they were supposed to be 2 for £7, but came out cheaper).

I loved Huggies with DS, and did with DD1 too to start with. I found Pampers fitted her best recently, but held no wee, so then tried Sainsbury's.

scarlettsmummy2 · 16/06/2012 20:00

I have just been complaining about huggies! Complete false economy, baby soaked right through last three nights. I bought them as they were on offer, but have just swapped back this afternoon to sainsburys little ones. Half the price and loads better.

Lilithmoon · 16/06/2012 20:01

Terry nappies FTW Wink

storminabuttercup · 16/06/2012 20:02

Lidl ones are the best for us.

And they won a mumsnet award

Magneto · 16/06/2012 20:02

Every baby is different, huggies didn't fit my ds properly but we never had any problems with pampers.

You can get baby dry tamisara, I find they're normally cheaper than the active fit but also a bit thicker.

tootiredtothinkofanickname · 16/06/2012 20:03

Liddl nappies are brilliant, I've been using them for months and no leaks.

amieis · 16/06/2012 20:04

I've been using a different brand and never had an issue, but like I said got this pack of "others" free so thought I'd try them. Seems a lot of mums have recommended to try some on brand ones for minimal leakage

I use Asda nappies for DS and they really are good. They are the baby dry ones rather than active fit, but they are not bulky and never leak, despite him being very active.

I used to use Boots most often for DD, but when I last bought some for DS, the tabs kept ripping off when I tried to put the nappy on the wriggling monkey!

Pearla · 16/06/2012 20:05

Lidl nappies ('Toujours') are brilliant and cheap. The big brands I have found to be crap.

GingerWrath · 16/06/2012 20:07

Have to agree, Lidl ones were great!

Lilicat1013 · 16/06/2012 20:09

I think every baby is different.

For my son I only buy Pampers Active Fit as he gets nappy rash from any others, even other types of Pampers. Its weird.

I kept getting told the Asda ones are fantastic but he was terribly sore when we tried them. Maybe he just has sensitive skin.

rainydaysarebad · 16/06/2012 20:09

I think you only pay for the name with Pampers. I used them with DD until she was about 5months. When she started nursery I switched to Boots own and then Tesco's active fit ones. They were absolutelt brilliant. Then they changed them and they went a bit crap. When I was potty training DD I bought ASDA ones for the first time and they were brilliant nappies, but DD was potty trained within a few weeks, and I still have some left in a draw somewhere.

JoanOfNark · 16/06/2012 20:11

Do you somehow imagine all babies bums are the same shape and size? Of course not, which is why what works for one will leak for another.
Nothing wrong with the nappy, you need to try another one until you get the right fit. You might as well rant about your kids odd shaped arse.

nancerama · 16/06/2012 20:12

We only use disposables at night, but the Nature Babycare Natys are great - very rarely leak.

SleepyFergus · 16/06/2012 20:12

Another vote here for Lidl nappies. It a shame they don't start until size 3. The minute my newborn is old enough, I'll be back at Lidls!

AKE2012 · 16/06/2012 20:13

I stuck to Asda nappies when my child wore them. MIL used every type that was cheap and any time child stayed at hers (as she insisited on buying her own things for my child) and had them on the only ones that worked were the Asda ones.
