My parents seem to think we are!

Admittedly i've not thought beyond the invite and RSVP part (that will be the end of the invite in the style of a tear off stub) and how it will work in terms of the table plan and the rest but I think the idea is sound and DP and I like it.

Oh wow. That's a fantastic idea. I love sending - and receiving - creative invitations, particularly if the theme reflects an interest specific to the host/s. Please do it Grin.

Idea for perforations (although that mini perforation tool looks ideal) is, if you have a sewing machine, you can 'sew' the perforation into the card - without thread in the machine, obviously Wink.

I do agree with PPs saying to make it obvious it's your wedding invitation though, not a flyer. I'm sure a guest at a joint party of mine and my best friend didn't come to ours as she thought our invitation was junk mail (I might add, that I didn't design our invite!), going by her very P/A comment, that she made in her Christmas card that year, about not being invited to our party Blush

YABU!
Don't you know you are breaking the law of weddings where everything must conform to the rules of expensive frilly tat?! You must use WHITE stationary, maybe with a heart or a butterfly on, and put a poem inside that tries to rhyme presents and presence.

I'm lying, obvs. They sound brilliant and I wish we'd thought of it!

Ivana, the sewing machine perforation idea was something I remembered doing in my teenage years, when my Mum let me mess around with her sewing machine. Quite why she let me do it, I have no idea - but she was a pretty relaxed Mum Grin

YY - sounds awesome!

As for how it would tie-in with the table plan etc, could you make the table plan look like a festival poster? Name tables after bands? You could also use the vinyl idea above but use that as part of the centrepieces so the table names/numbers are on the record label?

Sounds ace, just so long as you don't include a cutesy poem asking for cash.

DitaVonCheese · 17/06/2012 21:45

You'll need one of these as a memento too Wink
