Dresses on Girls

I'm I unreasonable to think that younger girls who wear dresses should also wear "bloomers/shorts" or something under their dress so, their panties don't show?

Blush

My daughter is turning 7 next weekend, and she still makes sure she has something under her dress, esp, if its a short/shorter one...

Yes, it depends on what she is doing too... Going for a nice supper/concert, no.... something underneath isn't necessary, as she won't be laying on the floor, playing, climbing on the monkey bars, etc.etc.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but when I see a bunch of kids sitting on the ground playing, chances are the girls don't worry about their panties showing...

jmho...

Where I come from we don't use the word knickers. We say panties or brooks/brookies

Mother2many · 15/06/2012 18:50

Panties, Panties, Panties... I've never heard of it called anything else in Canada... Maybe we are dumb, EH?

I wear something under my dresses/skirts at my age !! Some boxer type Knickers over my usual underwear !! Do not know why just feel more protected. My dds do likewise.

higgle · 15/06/2012 19:20

When I was at school, generations ago, we used to wear the regulation navy blue gym knickers over our "real" knickers, not sure why, but we were very covered up if tempted to do cartwheels at break.

DP and I remember fondly the time we were trying to encourage DD2 to put some knickers on before we went out, her response was an almost defiant

"Why, are we going somewhere special?"

I think she was about 4 at the time. We are holding onto that one until her wedding and we are in need of some material for a parental speech.
