AIBU to be really annoyed when i hear the term "fess up"

YANBU. Although 'makes my teeth itch' is also an unreasonable phrase in my book!Grin

'Fess up' doesn't bother me, 'made my teeth itch' however . . . . .

There's a lot of chat on here about I hate this term, I hate that term....I can't honestly see what it is in these expressions that people find so worthy of scorn!

I hate it too!!! It doesn't even make sense! How you get fess up, from confess, I do not know. Where does the "up" come from!!!
