He thought the DD was with her mother. Must have been frightening for their DD and a heart stopping moment for them.

BonnieBumble · 11/06/2012 09:13

Poor little girl. Sad

Hope he remembers this next time he has a pop at feckless lower class parents.

doggiemumma · 11/06/2012 09:15

morebeta you have chastened me with your rational explanation - i only heard second hand from my DP who raced in to tell me that he heard it on the radio. You are right, must have been terrifying, but you really would think that there would be some level of security around them.

He is an arse people on tv this morning are gawfawing about it but in reality he left his kid at the pub if that was a pleb SS would be all over them Hmm

BonnieBumble · 11/06/2012 09:18

Exactly MrsJay.

TotemPole · 11/06/2012 09:21

but you really would think that there would be some level of security around them,

there was. He had his bodyguards with them. It was their mistake.

The girl was found in the pub toilets by the staff. When DC returned to the pub she was helping the staff. It doesn't sound as though she was scared or in any danger at all.

BonnieBumble · 11/06/2012 09:23

Perhaps he needs to book him and Sam onto one of his parenting classes.

Mrsjay · 11/06/2012 09:24

I did see it was 3 months ago and not at the weekend so i wonder why its been leaked now ?

Sirzy · 11/06/2012 09:25

There is a whole other thread on this. But YABU

ajandjjmum · 11/06/2012 09:27

Of course, most of us have never made a parenting mistake! We actually did this with my ex-BIL - wish we'd have left him there now! Grin

nymets · 11/06/2012 09:28

fgs of course social services wouldn't be all over him, this story and peoples reactions are quite daft

Mrsjay · 11/06/2012 09:30

I did have my tongue in my cheek honestly Grin

Mrsjay · 11/06/2012 09:33

this story has been leaked so Dave and Sam are made to look like 'normal parents' I am wondering what they are going to announce over the next few weeks probably promoting parenting classes,

BonnieBumble · 11/06/2012 09:34

Because he was at a pub in Buckinghamshire and probably ate seared scallops with chorizo we just put it down to "one of those things". If a mumsnetter said that a little girl had been forgotten and left behind by her rowdy parents and staffie dog at a pub in Burnley people would be blaming the parents and making all sorts of assumptions.

Snobbery.

other thread

JaponicaTroggs · 11/06/2012 09:36

What a ridiculous over reaction on here to a clear mistake. After all it's not as though they deliberately planned to leave the child by herself is it? Obviously no one would defend someone who did that. Surely not.

doggiemumma · 11/06/2012 09:46

no over reaction by me, i just found it amusing, brightened my day - no harm done and all that.
