To think ending a status with 'That is all' just makes you sound like a dick?

IANBU. It does make you sound like a dick.

That is all. (argghh!!)

I've used it - when I want a bit of a conversation but am not trying to make any particular point. An example - I wanted to tell MN about how I'd got Beach Boys lyrics into a conversation with Brian Wilson Lookalike Window Cleaner. Told tale, said "that is all". And that was all. It wasn't "do you agree I was reasonable to say "God only knows" to Brian?", it was just a means to relate how on fire I was that day. On fire or a dick - either is fine really.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 10/06/2012 19:37

Im not sure on this one. That is all.

Coops79 · 10/06/2012 19:38

I say that quite a lot.

I'm going to stop now.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 10/06/2012 19:39

I like it.

Lovetats · 10/06/2012 19:40

YABU. End of. :)

LentillyFart · 10/06/2012 19:41

I like it so I suppose I'm a dick. I've been called worse Grin

PPPop · 10/06/2012 19:43

I find it slightly irritating too Smile. Good times.

NortyNancy · 10/06/2012 19:50

Good times. That did the rounds for a while too. Guilty of that myself.

That is all. (heeeerrrrrraargh!)

PPPop · 10/06/2012 19:53

Good times makes me want to scream. At least that is all is, ummm, brisk

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 19:56

I like being a dick on fb,gives the moaners summat to whinge about.

manticlimactic · 10/06/2012 21:34

Yes it annoys the hell out of me too. Along with 'Bad/good times'

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 11/06/2012 17:10

Being on FaceBook is ALL ABOUT being a dick.

Its not a serious place.

Pandemoniaa · 11/06/2012 17:13

YANBU. One of the Biggest Dicks I know (I suspect he actually has a Very Small One) ends most status updates thus. Or rather he did when I had the misfortune to have him on my friends list. It always comes across as, well, a dick.

Mrsjay · 11/06/2012 17:15

Oh i say it when i am exclaiming something , I can be quite dramatic and will put ARGHHHH that is all . on facebook Grin

Pandemoniaa · 11/06/2012 17:16

I can be quite dramatic and will put ARGHHHH that is all

Do you respond to questioning comments with "will inbox u hun" too?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 11/06/2012 17:20

YANBU

And anyone hashtagging ANYTHING outside of actual Twitter (e.g. in a text, in speech) is an official twittertwat. It just makes you sound like a knobby knobby knobson with no knob.

DailyMailSpy · 11/06/2012 17:41

Yanbu, it makes anyone saying it look like a bit of a wanker.

I also hate people saying "I'll inbox you xxx" in reply to passive aggressive (or sometimes just plain aggressive) cryptic status updates. Jjust send the message, they'll get a notification. You don't need to say that other than to tell everyone else on their facebook that you're so cool that you're on 'email terms' with the person.

NunOnTheRun · 11/06/2012 19:13

YANBU. Repeated use of 'That's all.' was only amusing in The Devil Wears Prada [Meryl].

Tortington · 11/06/2012 19:14

whatevs innit

Mrsjay · 11/06/2012 19:27

no i never say oh i cant possibly say whats wrong with me or i will inbox ya hunnie babez I will tell people why i arghed as somebody else said face book isnt serious well not for everybody , Grin

CouldYouPleaseCallMeCordelia · 11/06/2012 19:35

It's on par with leaving 'discuss' at the end of an OP

fuck off.

doggiemumma · 11/06/2012 19:51
usualsuspect · 11/06/2012 20:06

I think my might update my status with just 'That is all'

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 11/06/2012 20:10

Put

Good times. Bad Times. That is All.

Quite poetic innit?

usualsuspect · 11/06/2012 20:14

Good times, Bad times,That is all,End of. lol xxx
