And footballers complete pathetic wusses who fall over and cry at the smallest bump.

If i was their mother i would be ashamed of them. Pathetic.

And they are paid vast amounts of money yet still miss the net when they kick the ball at it.

What a load of boring shite.

Completely agree with you. Give me a good game of rugby anyday.

BumpingFuglies · 09/06/2012 20:05

Dame Grin

You are not being U!

GrahamTribe · 09/06/2012 20:05

YABU. It's god's own game. Granted, it's not a matter of life and death.

It's waaaaay more important than that!

DameHermione · 09/06/2012 20:05

Pochemuchka · 09/06/2012 20:07

YANBU

It's a load of old shite. And that's just the game itself
Don't get me started on the wages/footballers/racism/sexism. . . .

rockinastocking · 09/06/2012 20:09

I hear ya.

I hate it. The culture that surrounds it as much as anything.

YABtotallyU.
It might not be what you enjoy watching, but that's the beauty of the 'off switch' when stuff comes on that you don't like, you can switch it off, like those of us that can't abide "reality" TV, or any type of so called "celebrity" shows, or anything that puports to be a talent show, do on a regular basis.

MsKittyFane · 09/06/2012 20:17

Can anyone tell me how long/ when this latest football er... tournament lasts/is on? So I can prepare myself for zero contribution at home from DH ?

OP- I hate football. YANBU.

LineRunner · 09/06/2012 20:18

I love football.

I don't love all footballers, though. Especially the ones who think it's funny to run deliberately into female referees.

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2012 20:20

I like footie...especially the Euro.

I was subjected to half an hour of the French Open earlier on

Two sweaty, grunty women whacking a ball to and fro over a net for what seemed like an eternity.

Now that was a waste of time.

BackforGood · 09/06/2012 20:20

Final is on 1st July.
England's involvement may have finished before then though - our last game could potentially be on 19th June Grin

runningforthebusinheels · 09/06/2012 20:21

YANBU I hate football.

NettoSuperstar · 09/06/2012 20:22

Roll on 19th JuneGrin

Susieloo · 09/06/2012 20:23

Agreed-can't stand it and gutted my maternity leave has started at the same time, particularly hate the way if they score a goal they take their top off and run around like toddlers as if they're shouting "look at my tummy!" and when they lose their temper because someone treads on their foot-grow up!!!!!

Sirzy · 09/06/2012 20:25

I can't stand football, I am another in the "give me a game of rugby (League!) any day" camp.

ChaoticismyLife · 09/06/2012 20:36

YANBU

Mind you, I had to Grin at the taxi drivers reaction earlier when he asked me if I was going to watch the football.

My response was "What football?" Confused
His was Shock that I didn't know that the world cup? was on.

LineRunner · 09/06/2012 20:41

It's the European Championships. It's held every four years. Two years either side of the World Cup.

This year it's based in Ukraine and Poland, jointly.

There has been controversy over racism shown by the hosts crowds in Ukraine towards black players.

The England team visited Auschwitz, a Nazi death camp, in Poland.

You could say this shines a spotlight on a lot of people.

enimmead · 09/06/2012 20:45

Seems to have been on BBC1 all weekend :(

I would hope most British people know about Auschwitz. It's certainly covered in the curriculum.

aquashiv · 09/06/2012 20:46

Its not as good as watching in a pub with beer fags and rock and roll but that was a long time ago now.
Sitting in your living room with himself and the dog just isnt the same.

ChaoticismyLife · 09/06/2012 20:47

Ah, right, thanks :)

My interest in football is non existent and I usually manage to avoid most of the publicity about it. With the jubilee and the olympics being held this year it's been off my radar even more than usual.

LST · 09/06/2012 20:48

YABU. I love football.

BarredfromhavingStella · 09/06/2012 20:48

Hmmmm, have to agree-load of bollocks. When I met my now hubby he told me he was a rugby man, not bothered about football so please explain why I have to watch the shite that is on now along with champions league, UEFA cup, MOTD, MOTD2, FA cup, other crap cup & any other football related toss that is on the telly & then I get F1, Motogp & BTC-give me fucking strength!!! Angry

I do like the rugby though-now that is a group of fit men Grin
