to think that people who choose to have more children whilst living in social housing shouldn't expect to be given a bigger place?

I am a member of another pregnancy forum and there is a woman there who has just had her 5th child (by choice). Neither her nor her partner work and she is complaining that the council will not giver them a bigger house (she is in a 3 bed). All the other members are sympathising with her but I don't understand why. Surely if you choose to have a child when you know your home is not big enough, you shouldn't expect the council to give you a bigger one, especially when it is sought after subsidised housing?

'wouldnt want a benefit claimant doing my housework either to be honest....they might nick me best china and sell it down the market for half a crown/or their latest fix'

I call HOUSE. Benefit claiment = druggie. I hope all those old people and disabled people are aware ignorant DM readers think they are all druggies for getting enefits.

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 22:07

not a teacher actually,.....didnt know teachers worked overnight shifts....doh

[Sighs]

This would be a good opportunity to explain irony to you.

At no point, did I actually think you were employed an English teacher.

Traditionally being an English teacher has required a good command of spelling, punctuation and grammar. This would be a job for which you would be ill-suited, given your hopelessly poor spelling, grammar and haphazard use of punctuation.

It is for this reason that I made the IRONIC suggestion that you were employed in this capacity.

It is a bit like when it is raining and someone says 'Lovely weather isn't it?' They don't actually like the rain, they are using irony.

I appreciate that this might be difficult to take it in, but it will save us both a long and tedious exchange of messages.

Goofus · 10/06/2012 22:13

Did you finish spending your lottery millions already ?

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 22:14

havent laughed so much in months .....thanks to all

Dawndonna · 10/06/2012 22:14

HaHaHa!
Couldn't leave could you, just had to come back and justify your wee place in the world.
Ahh!

AnyoneForTennis · 10/06/2012 22:14

That life you saved last night?? What if it was a benefit claimant?

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 22:15

if he can breathe he can work, you don't have to walk to work a checkout. Lazy and entitled.

crazynanna · 10/06/2012 22:15

what an utter idiot

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 22:16

Saved several lives (Registered Nurse), delivered over 500 babies (midwife) and now a carer to my autistic child so feck off - you are not the only person who works hard. I have done more than my fair share in my time.

Then again you are just here on a wind up as you put it - am amazed you have the time in your noble life.

D0oinMeCleanin · 10/06/2012 22:16

Someone gave you a job in a hospital, even though you seeingly cannot spell simple words such as 'you' and 'are' properly? Shock

Blimely, the NHS is really going downhill.

I have a far more important job. I send all the scroungers noodles and egg fried rice, so they don't have to bother cooking for their sprogs Grin

I have also travelled, although I am not sure why that is relevent?

AnyoneForTennis · 10/06/2012 22:16

He could still work!!!! Find himself a different job!

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 22:17

Oh has she gone already

Lost the argument and flounced

KalSkirata · 10/06/2012 22:18

hope we dont meet you at our hospital given the spelling and grammar

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 22:18

i'm bored now - when do i get my goat?

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 22:18

please have all the benefits u want , council houses u want, anything, just dont believe all u read.......everyone deserves what they need , dont begrudge anybody anything.....i truly have seen some awful things in my job and wouldnt wish anyone any harm......feel abit awful now that i have wound some of u up....my grammer may be awful but not everyone is perfect...

ComposHat · 10/06/2012 22:19

actually saved a life last night

If you are a DJ and it was 'from a broken heart' then that doesn't count.

Dawndonna · 10/06/2012 22:19
