to think that people who choose to have more children whilst living in social housing shouldn't expect to be given a bigger place?

I am a member of another pregnancy forum and there is a woman there who has just had her 5th child (by choice). Neither her nor her partner work and she is complaining that the council will not giver them a bigger house (she is in a 3 bed). All the other members are sympathising with her but I don't understand why. Surely if you choose to have a child when you know your home is not big enough, you shouldn't expect the council to give you a bigger one, especially when it is sought after subsidised housing?

Greatauntirene · 10/06/2012 21:39

Actually ^missgrohl I have worked with families such as you describe (although cannot recall any of them having enough spare cash for two weeks in Benidorm) and they all had far more problems than too many children in a council house*

Well, nice that it keeps you in work Colouring, just keep wringing your hands over their problems and we'll keep paying your wages.

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:40

well just reading this just confirms the mentality of the majority of 'THE ENTITLED'...... its all about the attitude of the entitlements.....im not saying nobody is needing council housing or benefits or any other benefits such as cares allowances, its what u do with what u are given, if u have a three bedroom house , u stick to what children u can accommadate not think i will have eight kids cos i will get a bigger house, i would have liked to have more children but i could not afford a bigger house or afford to keep more children.....the whole country will go bankrupt and it cannot afford to keep paying out billions on people who have no concept of living within a budget because the benefits system is there for them

want to be like me when u grow up.....u have no idea about my life.....except i work.....and continued to work through some very difficult times....its what some people do

KalSkirata · 10/06/2012 21:43

let 'em starve eh Missgrohl. I know a pensioner who claimed benefits her entire life. now she gets a free pension and bungalow too Shock
onto the street with her? Or get her a job at 80? what do you reckon?

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 21:44

I take it you didn't do an English degree then missgrohl. Not only is your writing almost incomprehensible, you don't even recognise irony when it jumps up and smacks you between the teeth.

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 21:44

oh dear..

how the fuck have you decided that the people on here represent the majority of 'the entitled'? i take it you mean people in receipt of benefits by that (which, as has already been pointed out, is NOT a prerequisite of living in social housing)

KalSkirata · 10/06/2012 21:44

could you turn your postings to entitled bankers who fucked the economy worldwide please. I'm looking forward to your opinion on them....

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 21:45

Off to the workhouse with 'em.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 10/06/2012 21:45

Why do you keep doing this.....
Why dont you just use sentences?

I know you think you are doing it for our benefit, to make it simpler for us to read but its not working.

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 21:45

you work too? well good for you. What would you do if you lost your job?

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 10/06/2012 21:46

How old are you missgrohl?

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 21:47

I would think about 16 tbh.

Dawndonna · 10/06/2012 21:47

MrsDV about ten and due back in school tomorrow!

ComposHat · 10/06/2012 21:47

want to be like me when u grow up.....u have no idea about my life.....except i work.....and continued to work through some very difficult times....its what some people do

Let.... me.... guess... you (u)... are.... (r) an.... English... teacher?

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:48

i like that some of u can hold a reasonable debate but some others just cant defend themselves without using offensive language and not actually giving much information about their hectic benefit lifestyle

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 21:49

oh and for your information - i don't work per se; my DP does, we have our own business, its quite hard, sometimes we struggle to pay or mortgage, yes, mortgage! So not quite sure if i qualify as "entitled" but as a tax payer i feel perfectly entitled to fall back on a benefits safety net if things do go tits up.

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:49

not a teacher actually,.....didnt know teachers worked overnight shifts....doh

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 21:49

oh my lord

'hectic benefit lifestyle' has finished me off Grin

Goofus · 10/06/2012 21:49

How do you feel about MP's second home allowance? Do you get on your high horse over that too?
Or just save the rage for us entitled council/HA tennants?

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 21:50

i don't need to defend myself, i've done nothing wrong and perhaps i'm not giving much away about my hectic benefit lifestyle as i don't have one?

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:50

i recognise irony,,,,,but would u recognise a job if it smacked u right in the teeth...

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 21:50

I thought unchartered meant that she wanted to be like misgrohl when she grows up - misgrohl that is. You never know, she might actually take her head out of her arse and realise that life just isn't as black and white as the DM makes out.

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 21:51

Ah - I have gone from "deserving" to "entitled" can't keep up with it all tbh.
