to think that people who choose to have more children whilst living in social housing shouldn't expect to be given a bigger place?

I am a member of another pregnancy forum and there is a woman there who has just had her 5th child (by choice). Neither her nor her partner work and she is complaining that the council will not giver them a bigger house (she is in a 3 bed). All the other members are sympathising with her but I don't understand why. Surely if you choose to have a child when you know your home is not big enough, you shouldn't expect the council to give you a bigger one, especially when it is sought after subsidised housing?

I got my tenancy as I was classed as homeless after landing up in a hostel fleeing dv..

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 20:54

usually people who do not work and live in council houses with loads of kids they dont support financially will say that she is entitled to a bigger house.....what i say is that me and my husband both work and dont have any say on how our hard earned tax deductions are given to people who have never worked and have loads of kids, so i say no they arent entitled.....get a job and support urselves and dont think everything u get is an entitlement as i think im entitled to say my taxes are wasted on people who dont give anything back to society except to bang out a sprog at any opportunity for more money, bigger house, tax credits etc etc....

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 20:56

usual !! we've got another goader!!

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 20:58

It's one of them 'hard earning tax payers'

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 21:01

i have no business on this thread tbh, not having paid a bean in tax for almost 4yrs Wink

KalSkirata · 10/06/2012 21:03

Can we have a list missgrohl, of those who dont 'give back'?
Just so we know.

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 21:04

You were to busy banging out sprogs to pay tax, unchartered

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 10/06/2012 21:05

Could we have a translation first though? Plz

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:06

its hard working taxpayers that give u ur benefits every week....dont mind needy people being on any benefit, but the 'im entitled brigade' who have never worked are a different bunch.....those that never get up in the morning, down the pub at every opportunity, smoke non stop and seem to be able to spend two weeks a year in benidorm take the piss

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 21:06

usual you got me there. maybe they could bring in a birth tax?

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 21:07

HOUSE!!

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 21:07

Translation please missgrohl

Oh and that list Kal asked for too.

Not sure if I am "entitled" or "deserving".

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 21:08

maybe if you didn't have to pay so much tax to support the scroungers you would have been able to afford a proper education and learnt to spell and punctuate, eh? and you have tax deductions too? how lucky

usualsuspect · 10/06/2012 21:09

A full house right there, in one single post

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:10

i see women down the school, who live on social, loads of children who have men living with them they dont declare and they are working, surely u see there is something wrong with that......the men are even the kids fathers....who are supposed to have done a runner

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 21:10

Ah I am on the "deserving" list - so that's okay then.

Actually ^missgrohl* I have worked with families such as you describe (although cannot recall any of them having enough spare cash for two weeks in Benidorm) and they all had far more problems than too many children in a council house.

UnChartered · 10/06/2012 21:11

fucking hell. is it a link game?

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 21:12

And there you have it - fraud. So report them if you are so sure.

Dawndonna · 10/06/2012 21:12

I'm entitled.
I am as a human being entitled to decent housing.
I am entitled to respect from other human beings regardless of my status.
I am entitled to have enough to eat and provide for my family, regardless of my status.
I am entitled not to be targetted by newspapers, governments or morons that know no better..
Oh, and don't forget the goat and the mahoosive tellybox!

crazynanna · 10/06/2012 21:13

entitled...entitled...entitled

So...only you are entitled because you pay tax?

That's to the one who does not like punctuation...probably because that fucked up punctuation thinks it's enetitled to be there...bastard

ColouringIn · 10/06/2012 21:14

Well said Dawndonna

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:14

ha....maybe its because i have just finished my 5, 12 hour night shifts and am a tad tired as have been up all day , doing the washing , cleaning etc....maybe if i didnt pay tax i could afford a housekeeper, or seeing as u get paid for doing nothing u could pop over .....

Changethatbulb · 10/06/2012 21:14

UnChartered I hope it's a Link game. The money is better.

missgrohl · 10/06/2012 21:15
