FeakAndWeeble · 08/06/2012 22:45

Right. I keep asking this. I never get an answer. It's not in the fucking anagrams whatsit or whatever the fuck it's called and I WANT TO KNOW.

What is POAS?

What is IPOAT?

CamelKnees · 08/06/2012 22:46

How can you know how to do a fancy bear thingy and not know POAS???? back of the class feak

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/06/2012 22:48

The biscuit means you have no comment.

If you are going to post a biscuit, you must never ever post anything else other than the biscuit.

It is a subtle little emoticon, not necessarily passive aggresive, because someone may post a question, or about a scenario, that the biscuit offerer genuinly has no opinion on, and yet they feel the need to express this ... perhaps to show the op that it is not actually a big deal after all to some people.

MarySA · 08/06/2012 22:48

I didn't know that one. IPOAT I'm learning a lot tonight.

FeakAndWeeble · 08/06/2012 22:48

Thank you!!!

God I feel relieved that has been bugging me.

Actually Camel I'm quite chuffed that I didn't know the acronym for peeing on a stick!

FeakAndWeeble · 08/06/2012 22:49

"There are IPOAT today"

That sounds weird Hmm

BumpingFuglies · 08/06/2012 22:50

Bibbity - very intelligent explanation. I thought it meant fuck off don't be silly.

BumpingFuglies · 08/06/2012 22:51

I think IPOAT became a sort of thread by itself, like Nobdies. "IPOAT - the hall has landed" for example

MoonlightandRoses · 08/06/2012 22:52

YABU to worry about overuse of the strikeout function when we still don't have the Cake emoticon (yes, iced and with a cherry on top) that Gransnet have.

[Nothing like believing access to virtual cake will solve all one's problems, oh no.]

Grin
CamelKnees · 08/06/2012 22:53

I still don't get the fecking biscuit. The list says it means no comment. Bibbity says it means no comment but why????? biscuits have nothing to do with wanting to say no comment

feak my autocorrect keeps wanting to call you freak btw. Not good. You've done well! I can't get enough of POAS. It's an illness.

tunafortea · 08/06/2012 22:53

How do you do the bear thingy then?

Brandnewbrighttomorrow · 08/06/2012 22:53

Envy at FeekandWeeble

BumpingFuglies · 08/06/2012 22:53

All hail Moonlight, she speaks sense. We need Cake!

BumpingFuglies · 08/06/2012 22:55

tunafortea · 08/06/2012 22:55

Wasn't it about Politicians being asked what their fav biscuit was and one of them said: 'no comment' (for fear of choosing the 'wrong' kind and offending one subsection of the electorate?) It might have been Brown / Blair / Cameron (interchangeable wankers, imo, but thats another matter)

Biscuit

couldn't help myself Grin

tunafortea · 08/06/2012 22:57

Thanks, Bumping Fuglies Thanks

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/06/2012 22:57

Biscuit no commenter was G Brown Esq.

OP posts:
BumpingFuglies · 08/06/2012 22:57

It was Gordy Brown being asked by a mumsnetter what his fave biscuit was - he couldn't answer so it became "no comment". Has evolved a little since then though Smile

FeakAndWeeble · 08/06/2012 22:58

Grin (or [death teeth]) at Camel

I've been called worse!

BumpingFuglies · 08/06/2012 22:58

SunshineOutdoors · 08/06/2012 22:58

when people do this it makes me want to tell them it's ok you can strike out a whole sentence in one go
