To wonder why my 7yo dd is sitting on the toilet in June, singing the Slade "merry Christmas" song?

Is June a no-toilet month?

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 08/06/2012 12:10

YABU. Your dd is making a reasonable judgement based on the weather right now.

It currently looks like Autumn in my garden because the wind has been so strong, there are orangy browny leaves all over it!

Jinsei · 08/06/2012 12:10

Grin Not a no-toilet month yet, but might designate it as such, it would save on the cleaning.

Yes, weather is grim here too. :(

only 100 day to go!!!!!!!!!!

ChasingSquirrels · 08/06/2012 12:12

My 6yo was singing Jingle Bells the other. day. Then We Will Rock You.
They are an enigma.

Jinsei · 08/06/2012 12:12

Really pets. I wonder if dd has been keeping count.

YANBU, someone could be living in that toilet and your DC is using it to sing in!

Jinsei · 08/06/2012 12:15

Yes indeed mamma. So inconsiderate.

chasing, I would venture to suggest that your dd has slightly better taste in music than mine.

ChasingSquirrels · 08/06/2012 12:18

Haha.
His current fav is Hippy Hippy Shakes, cos at his dads he gets sent to his room for saying "for gods sake", but if he sings that he gets to say something similar.

Petsinmypudenda · 08/06/2012 12:25

199 not 100 sorryHmm

squeakytoy · 08/06/2012 12:26

Jinsei · 08/06/2012 12:26

My 3.5yo DD keeps looking out the window & remarking in astonishment "it's not snowing, Mummy!"

CaliforniaLeaving · 09/06/2012 02:11

Only 100 days? I thought I had longer till Christmas than that.
I was treated to The 12 days days of Christmas by my 7 year old this afternoon I was held captive while driving. I did remind her it's summer holidays, she finished school for the year yesterday. But she didn't care.

WishingRLwouldFuckOff · 09/06/2012 02:24

See if you can find the answer to making them stop that would be good. Ds regularly comes out of school singing Christmas songs. I wouldn't mind but he refuses to sing anything else. Ever. Although I do suspect that now it is a case of well this is a good way to annoy mum because she dared to say no to something I wanted to do and I am still mean raise an eyebrow and just ask him really? in April/May/June/whether not December

Ds (also 9) suggested we have an extra Christmas as the weather is so rubbish Hmm

glenthebattleostrich · 09/06/2012 08:32

DNeice used to enjoy practicing her carols, usually on packed busses in June and July. She said she had to make sure she didn't forget them Grin

anychocswilldo · 09/06/2012 08:37

Consider yourself lucky! We've been 'treated' to a rendition of Jingle Bells almost every day this year. even in the supermarket Confused. My dd is v talented coz she can now put other words to the Jingle Bells tune. Sad is it wrong to put Sellotape over a 4 year olds mouth?

harassedandherbug · 09/06/2012 08:38

Dd, 5, was up in her room --caterwauling- singing along to carols yesterday. I blame the weather....

crazycrofter · 09/06/2012 08:45

DS, 5, has been singing Jingle Bells all week too!

whatsthatnoise · 09/06/2012 09:19

my 3.5year old had me watching Polar Express yesterday :o
