(Disclaimer; of course I love my small people too).

I am I the only person who doesn't find other peoples children annoying? I'm quite fond of other children. They are just as funny and chatty as my own, and they don't whinge at me so much Hmm.

Whenever people talk about child-free weddings it always gets me thinking about this, I would be bored to tears at an adult only do.

I should be doing my OU work, hence the AIBU distraction thread.

Ha ha, would you move near me, or tell me where youlive so I can move near you?
I like other peoples kids too, I find it easier to be patient with them and have not had 20 conversations in the first hour of the day with them reminding them that I am Mum and therefore in charge!! That helps me like them a great deal.
Though of cours I love my little darlings! When would you like to have them for a year day or two?

MammaTJ · 08/06/2012 12:11

Oh and I should be learning about how the heart works and how to label it!

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 08/06/2012 12:11

I like the 5 year olds that live in my street. They don't stop talking and come out with some funny things. I could talk to them all day

Meglet · 08/06/2012 12:13

Yes, so much easier to be patient with them. I almost forget how much fun kids are when I'm constantly battling with my DC's.

One of DS's school friends made me a posy out of dandelions the other week, then DS copied him Smile.

I like being with other children too hence the reason I became a nursery nurse. However I don't wish to spend ALL my time with them and thoroughly enjoy child free events! other people's children can be delightful but not always, though my own, of course, are spectacular at all times!

CrunchyFrog · 08/06/2012 12:17

Yep, always having other peoples' kids here for playing. They keep mine out of my hair and it's just fun!

Jinsei · 08/06/2012 12:17

Some other people's children are delightful.

Trills · 08/06/2012 12:18

YANBU to like children as long as you realise that not everyone shares your opinion.

Birdsgottafly · 08/06/2012 12:25

I like children but i don't like behaving in cetain ways around them, getting drunk, flirting etc, so i cherish 'adult only' time.

It depends on what stage of your life you are at.

Trills · 08/06/2012 12:26

I would be bored to tears at an adult only do.

Do you not like adults then?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 08/06/2012 12:40

Depends on the child. There have been one or two of ds's friends who I'd rather not spend any more time with than is strictly necessary. I like hanging out with my friend's dd as she reminds me of her mum at the same age :)

I like childfree weddings as it means people are able to catch up with each other properly rather than cutting convos every five minutes to wipe noses and so on. I'm afraid sweet as I find them, I get bored of little children quite quickly. Thankfully ds is v.good with visitors' small children so entertains them for me.

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 08/06/2012 12:43

I work in a school, and on the whole, I really enjoy the company of other people's children.

I agree that being with children who are not yours forces you to be a bit more thoughtful, a bit more creative
