I was just looking for flat elastic...

FOCAL LENGTH.

I am up for the fight.
The Riddle of Human Nature drinking at a slice of History in York,
Wondering just whose flickering ghost has been set adrift on the cobbled streets tonight.
(Meanwhile, in the land of the living)
I SEE THEM ALL?..
Personally fighting an unwinable war.
A final stab at squeezing yourself back into your past
Before a zip rips and an 18 line button pops off
To blind a visually impaired person?s Labrador.

A mirror does not reflect.

I smile at my failed curse.
Safe in the knowledge that more people die driving to a roller coaster than on it.
For this is my Copernican Revolution and I now know I am not the centre of the universe.
(Meanwhile, in the land of the dying)
I SEE THEM ALL?..
Crippled by the old magician?s pain:
How they thought their own tricks were in some way special,
Yet now resigned to the awful truth that the greatest illusion is not
How to make things disappear but to make them reappear again.

A mirror does not reflect.

I am here for the duration.
Riddled with Human Nature, punctuating graffiti where and whenever I find it.
Call her ?a slag? by all means, but please at least use an exclamation mark explanation.
(Meanwhile, in the land of the blind)
I SEE THEM ALL?..
Wading through the all too imaginable slaughter.
So called ?yummy mummies? with baby-stretched pierced navels and tattooed tummies,
Hideously unaware you cannot grow old gracefully
Whilst living vicariously through your own daughter.

A mirror does not reflect.

I smile at their broken hearts.
Safe in the knowledge that I can count on one hand exactly how many fingers and thumbs I have lost.
For this is my Darwinian evolution and I know now I am considerably more than the sum of my parts.
(Meanwhile, in the land of the giants)
I SEE THEM ALL?..
Desperately trying to evaluate their worth.
The lost man blaming all others - inverted to the world.
The polished surface converting my perilous reflection, I see them all,
I see me; I am one of us, scared by life and scarred by birth.

A mirror does not reflect.
You do.

Ooooh turgid prolixity, my fave

fothergill · 07/06/2012 23:42

It's the fact that he/she is referencing 18 line buttons pinging off and putting out the eye of a blind person's labrador. That is parlance that only industry insiders could know. Call the police....

Um.... I'm guessing she's had kids, put on a lot of weight, is deffo a MNer by her hoiky-judgey pants, grammar policing but most of all because:
A final stab at squeezing yourself back into your past
Before a zip rips and an 18 line button pops off
To blind a visually impaired person?s Labrador.

Not only has she had the humiliation of public button pinging off, but she managed to blind a guide dog whilst doing so. If only she'd started a thread on here, I bet it would have ended up in Classics.

X-post Grin

THE NEAREST STAR TO EARTH.

How do you square the circle? I muse, TEN SYALLABUBBLES, A SLOW START
Staring up at the Sun for a ray of hope, a storm of reason, a photon of rhyme. SUN/RAY/STORM/PHOTON, yep we get it
It could be exploding this very second I am looking at it YES IT COULD
And I still, stood still here, would not know about it for eight and a half minutes time. LIKE, WOW, MAN

So I reminisce of you THAT'S NICE, DEAR
For you were the light that shone on your own 3D living hands ERM, 'K
To create a one dimensional shadow of a big-eared rabbit on the wall. TRYING NOT TO LARF HERE
I remember laughing, I think I was expanding at that very second because of you, OOH PHALLIC DONCHA THINK?
And I evolved, a former of my shadow self, the greatest gift of all. LOVE IS THE GREATEST GIFT, INNIT?
I was at once myself and one quarter a part of this thing called ?A Family?. BIFURCATION/DISASSOCIATION
I knew everything I could know at that second OMNISCIENT, COO GET YOU
And I wondered if four could be divided into three. YES, IT'S ONE AND ONE THIRD, HTH

(MY CAPITALS)

OTheHugeManatee · 08/06/2012 09:46

Is this the company that manufactures the elastic that holds up Judgy Pants?

I think I love her Grin

Incredible isn't it? You can but blink.

Further to deconstructing this wholesaler's angst, I'm still unable to find what I want. If anyone can find me dyeable nylon elastic trims for bra making I would be indebted.

Ask the poetic Habashsher...email her and admire her wordsmithery...she must sit in the warehouse, sorting rick-rack and jotting poetry on her order sheets!
