I am at work, on my own, all night. I have done all the housework, I am doing my two hourly (1 1/2 hourly) checks. I am on my lappy looking through threads but would really like to have something good to watch on TV too. I like reality stuff, cookery, house doctor, soaps too. Waiting for Corrie at 3.30!!
The internet connection isn't good enough to watch TV on.

I'm waiting for air crash investigations followed by Medium. Not sure what that says about me.

MammaTJ · 07/06/2012 03:02

Oh no, I like happy cheerful stuff!! I need happy cheerful stuff!! I get scared enough in an old creeky building!

You can get a Law & Order fix on Quest - freeview channel 38 - from 2-4am.

MammaTJ · 07/06/2012 03:12

Not really fitting in to the happy and cheerful though is it?
Also has to be fluff that I am able to dip in and out of incase someone needs me!
I have found Never Mind the Buzzcocks on Dave, that will do for a while!

Try the radio, there should be something happy and cheerful there. Or take a wander through cheezburger - kitties cheer everyone up.

izzyizin · 07/06/2012 03:26

The acting in Law & Order always cheers me up Smile

TBH, all the chat on here keeps me going very nicely. I just like the company of the TV. The radio here is in the kitchen, very creepy room and the speakers play through the ground floor, too near to where my charges are sleeping.

Mamma I'm lucky that my MIL takes my daughter when I do these shifts and let's me sleep all day if I want and brings her home around 5ish. I normally make her stay for tea and then feel I've been nice as she lives alone. I have midwife appt tomorrow tho so can't sleep all day and this is my first shift this pregnancy, even more of a killer than usual!!

MammaTJ · 07/06/2012 04:11

Nights when preg is a killer though I did that a long time ago. My DD1 is now 17 and was obliging enough to let me go on Maternity leave towards the middle of December, so making me miss the Christmas rota. I worked days in a shop when preg with DD2 and she was only 3 months old when I fell preg with DS.
I work nights so as not to have to use childcare too much. No family nearby or even willing if they were. I work Mon nights, go to college Tuesdays, work Tuesday Nights, Sleep Wendnesday, work Wednesday nights. The kids(age 6 and 5) got to holiday club all day on Wendnesday and stay to after school club when at school. That is the one day I really need decent sleep. I can cope with naps in hols otherwise.
Would your MIL like my 2 today, lol?

Fingers crossed u get a good sleep today then. I'm away for my rest break just now, hoping I'm not needed as we are still on call on our breaks :(

MammaTJ · 07/06/2012 04:38

Good luck with that. I am about to make a start on the real work of the night, at the time when I am at my most tired.

Night shift over and home to my sky TV. Wonderful in theory, but not so good when the kidlets are demanding to watch their TV. Ah well, endless hours of Wozards of Waverly place and I Carly!
