To think 2013/14 will bring the darkest days we've ever known re: economy?

I follow a few blogs re: economy and all are saying that post US election, as Govt continues to print money & looking at the Euro problems etc we will be in serious trouble in the West.

Is it not possible that things will be brighter next year? Could things really be that bleak and if so what will that likely mean for ordinary people?

Do others think that the West really is in terminal decline and power will inevitably shift to Asia?

Who knows? But hey... get a sandwich board and print '2013/14 will bring the darkest days we've ever known' on it. Beats 'the end of the world is nigh'... Hmm

I'm no economist and not feeling depressed about the next couple of years. Why can't they stop printing money if it causes so many long term problems? Not so simple I know. Just get the feeling that some commentators seem to be saying the problems are solvable and avoidable if only the powers-that-be would listen.
