To expect to be paid at least time and a half today?

It never crossed my mind that I wouldnt be. I worked yesterday, which was. Today though we are just given 7 1/2 hours annual leave, the same as the people who dont work it!! Hmm I beleive it was the same for the wedding last year as well.

Do they not have a bank holiday pay policy? Or does the contract state a certain number of bank holidays that it applies to so extra ones don't count?

Unless you have been explicitly told the policy, YANBU to expect both days to be treated the same.

IIRC from last year and the wedding companies are not obliged to honour today as a public holiday at all. If you're contracted to xx days of AL + BH you don't necessarily get it but if you get time in lieu of working BH they need to honour it. Or something like that anyway; basically there's an opt out clause!

But YANBU. Everyone who has to work BH's should be paid double and be given some sort of cake allowance. Working when the rest of the world is off is the pits. After 17 years in retail, my new admin work from home job is absolute bliss!
