If I write a note to milkman asking for 4 pints that is what I &*%$* want...

not 8 pints! I have still got 3 pints from wed delivery and I asked for 4 pints today in the knowledge that there would not be another delivery till next wed (due to BH). That the milkman decided actually I needed 8 pints is presumptive and bloody annoying (in a very minor way obv.) - i.e. we could have been going on holiday.

We were informed about the arrangements to deliver mondays milk today so I was not ignorant just not using as much milk due to warmer weather. Bloody fridge stuffed with 11pints of milk. Going to be making alot of milkshakes now I suppose Confused Bah!

Is he not working tomorrow?

Mine will deliver Monday's tomorrow and he's working Tuesday

Our Milky does mon/wed/fri deliveries usually they do bank hols but have been given this one off (which is fine by me) when they are going to be off on a delivery day they give you the usual order for the day they will miss in advance.

Hmm we get milk on tuesdays and fridays and never got loads today so our milkman must be getting up on tuesday to deliver the milk, they normally need no excuse for a day off!!

It is annoying, especially over the Christmas period I find.

It's too late now, but in the future if you can get hold of a 4 or 6 pint plastic bottle from the supermarket...you can clean it out and save it for times like this.

At least you can get it all in the fridge at once.

maybe he can't read, I left a note for mine requesting whole organic milk (it was semi-skimmed before) and now I get the not-organic skimmed sort Hmm

AlbertoFrog · 01/06/2012 09:59

Maybe it's BOGOF for the Jubilee weekend?

Can you freeze some?

bigmouthstrikesagain · 01/06/2012 10:02

I know he read the note as he scribbled '4 pints for monday' on the note I had left him.
Oh well I can make some lasagne and milkshake lollies or something. I just think it is poor customer services to assume you know better than the customer what they want. I don't want to complain but I may need to politely point out that we knew what we wanted and were very clear.

Make white/cheese sauce for the freezer? Make and freeze cake/muffins that need milk?

Maybe he thought you meant 4pints for today and 4 for monday?

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 01/06/2012 11:48

Pay him for the four you ordered, and leave the other four on the step until he comes back. Point to them and say sweetly "you left those behind, but they aren't mine"

picnicbasketcase · 01/06/2012 11:54

Two words. Rice pudding.

JosephineCD · 01/06/2012 11:55

stick it in the freezer

starmaker7 · 01/06/2012 12:50

I text mine monday saying I didnt need any tuesday (still had saturdays left) got up tuesday to 8 pints of milk .Wednesday I text in capitals ;0) and didnt get any thursday. I already have 8 4 pinters in the freezer from when we first started with deliveries and I ordered too many.
What time does yours come ?? Ours comes at 12.30 am which is fine in winter but not when the sun is coming out at 3.30 am and I'm not up for another 4 hours and its in direct sunlight (theres no where shady) :0(

bigmouthstrikesagain · 01/06/2012 17:39

Star - 0030 that is well early def need it later in high summer. Ours comes btwn 0630 and 0830 but I rarely hear it arrive as generally in kitchen at back of house.
