This neighbour has been disturbing my rest for a year now!
He works hard, so do I & my DP. But he will strim every evening until 9.30pm. When I am going to bed.

He also loves to get his chummy bloody mates round, to sit on his 5 'vintage' motorbikes and rev the engines until 10.00pm nearly every night.
We live in a tiny hamlet of 20 houses.

I come home from work at 4.30pm every day to do house work, cook ect.
But his 'chill out' time is to make as much noise as possible it seems until late evening.
AIBU when he moves out on Friday to say - Piss Off, I wont miss the constant smell of bike crap & noise, & your bastard strimmer!

Or am I just a miserable sod, that should accept peoples ways & stop moaning!

he sounds very inconsiderate. This would drive me up the bloody wall. I probably wouldn't bother telling him that I was glad he was going if I hadn't said something at the time but I would think it!

Shakey1500 · 31/05/2012 23:09

Tempting :) But no, it would be petty and foolish. He's going anyway, so rejoice and give him a cheery wave goodbye. He still knws where you live etc and you don't want taxis and pizzas turning up at all hours. I hope you're not wishing it was "just him and his strimmer" when the new neighbours move in...better the devil you know etc..Wink

Thanks & very true. Im worrying the next neighbours could be worse. My door slam on Saturday at 21.40pm stopped the bike revving after 10 seconds. Probably should have done my drama queen door slam months ago, but my t.v is usually on volume 5 & It got to volume 16 to drown out the bikes, plus the beep beeping of the horns as his pals rev away every night.

This guy is 38 ( my age) BTW not a lad. I could understand, if young.
I work in a hospital on a pretty stressful ward as a therapist, really like to come home & reflect & chill!

Thanks for making me feel human. Roll on Friday =)
Just thought maybe Im a bitch with no life =(

My dad's 56 and spends most nights in his garage revving a bike or two. Sometimes he keeps the door shut but gets a bit light headed of the fumes. The revving is essential you know!

Yanbu, enjoy the peace!

Noqontrol · 31/05/2012 23:30

Get yourself a bottle of wine to celebrate -and wait in anticipation for the new neighbours Grin

and shes a childminder so however many screaming children hanging over my fence.

daisyrain · 31/05/2012 23:43

cheese, WTF? nightmare.

Dear god, you sound a lot more tolerent than me! A lot!

We are renting as is my neighbour, so hope I dont sound to entiltled to live in the country & moan & sound awful. Get ooffff my land type of thing.

I know he pays as much as me, BUT really! Why live in the middle of knowhere and be a pain in the arse.

I was a bit thick to think that If you choose a place in the middle of Cornwall, 5 miles away from a shop & humans (apart from me & 1 neighbour) that you might like a quiet life?

were in north cornwall!

i used to live in the middle of the moors, it was bliss until mushroom season!

ParsleyTheLioness · 01/06/2012 21:25

Daisy don't assume that your next neighbour will be worse...you have no evidence to suggest this will be so, and if it were the case, would have been really unlucky...I wouldn't tell him, no...Just have a party when he's gone!
