Just curious.
No judgement on my part.
I had surgery on Monday and am signed off work this week and so have spent vastly more time on here (mostly reading but some posting) than I normally would.

I notice that many of the same people are here posting regularly throughout the day and night and seem to be able to respond to many many threads and my mind boggles as to how you find the time

I am nosey.

Go on, tell me to fuck off and mind my own business Grin

I also like the tv threads where tjeres a convo running alongside a show

I have had a recent halcyon period of mumsnetting as I have been off work ill and bedridden for months on end.

lately though I am back at work - conference calls are my MNing time. Or just when things aren't busy and I check in on here for 5 mins.

Don't usually post evenings and weekends - if I do it is from my phone when I am cooking or waiting for something else to happen.

FrankWippery · 31/05/2012 12:01

I have feral children. Foodstuffs are at a level they can reach and there's water in the tap. They manage.

TheSurgeonsMate · 31/05/2012 12:04

Eldritch Sad. My job really wouldn't allow for MN-ing if it was going well. It should be pretty full on.

Cabbageflowers · 31/05/2012 12:09

When/whilst I'm printing/photocopying.

During coffee breaks.

Whilst I'm supposed to be reading the newspaper in another window. And any time in the evening.

EldritchCleavage · 31/05/2012 12:14

Ditto TSM, ditto. But I am just back from mat leave so things have not fully fired up yet.

DucketyDuckDuck · 31/05/2012 12:15

Do something housey for 10 - check out MN

Do something toddlerish for 10 - check out MN

Cook some food for 10 - check out MN

Repeat as necessary.

SAHM - it saving my sanity.....

valiumredhead · 31/05/2012 12:17

I do it in short bursts - computer is on all the time - so I wash up, post a bit, tidy up, post a bit, hoover, post a bit...

Am rarely on in the evenings except for last night

MarySA · 31/05/2012 12:23

I've worked for years and years and years. Life has been one long rush. Don't work now. Children are older. And I'm being quite lazy these days with the novelty of it all.

happybubblebrain · 31/05/2012 12:29

I spend much more time on Pinterest, probably about an hour a day.
I spend my lunchbreaks on Mumsnet, plus a few minutes in the evening and about half an hour at weekends, usually when dd is busy doing something.
I hardly watch TV or read newspapers/magazines, which gives me more time for the internet.

Helltotheno · 31/05/2012 12:31

I do most of my work online so when I want a break, if I don't get up, it'll be online news or MN or whatever. I want to stop but I can't!!!

KellyElly · 31/05/2012 12:34

My job is pretty quiet at this time of year, so dip in and out while at work. I don't go on at evenings and weekends.

fluffydressinggown · 31/05/2012 12:42

I am unemployed and in a psych unit and my illness makes it hard for me to sit in communal areas and socialise so I have all the time in the world ;)

notcitrus · 31/05/2012 12:46

Breastfeeding a 3 month old. Have smartphone so surfing onehanded is easy + short comments. Writing novel will have to wait until less brain dead.

Belleflowers · 31/05/2012 12:48

it's like asking, how do so many of you find time to check your bank acct online, check your emails, check newspapers online

MN is up there as a daily online habit, it is THAT good

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 31/05/2012 12:50

I am a figment of your imagination.

vicky228 · 31/05/2012 12:54

oh god, am I the only one that spends hours reading all this stuff when I am meant to be working ?? Seriously, hours can pass by with idle browsing, even while simultaneously panicking about imminent deadlines (like I am today).

If anyone ever checked up on my work internet use, I'd be out the door immediately...

EasilyBored · 31/05/2012 12:59

Have a 5 month old baby so on mat leave, currently he's entertaining himself in his jumperoo. House looks like an episode of Hoarders.

Inertia · 31/05/2012 13:10

I've just got in from work and I'm having my lunch. And I got up at 6am to finish my ironing before work so feel justified in taking a bit of a break before tackling the other household chores.

And I have some chocolates that need tasting so will MN at the same time.

startail · 31/05/2012 13:56

I hate house work, my DDs are big enough to look after themselves.

I need to get a lifeGrin

TheHouseOnTheCorner · 31/05/2012 14:19

I negelct the housework and am happy with that. I do it all in a one hour slot...I am fast with a hoover.
