Just curious.
No judgement on my part.
I had surgery on Monday and am signed off work this week and so have spent vastly more time on here (mostly reading but some posting) than I normally would.

I notice that many of the same people are here posting regularly throughout the day and night and seem to be able to respond to many many threads and my mind boggles as to how you find the time

I am nosey.

Go on, tell me to fuck off and mind my own business Grin

I am quiet at work at the moment.

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 11:11

I work for myself Bamboo and I am a very lenient and understanding employer...

GnocchiNineDoors · 31/05/2012 11:13

Im on mat leave. i mn with my morning brew while dd practices her rolling....I pop on during each of her naps if we arr in the house. If we are out I dont come on at all as I am tight and like to only use the wifi in my house Grin

When I go to bed, i pop on again for a but and only stay on if im caught up in a topic or two.

Its good for me as it provides adult conversation...advice...humour and surreal entertainment.

AWomanCalledHorse · 31/05/2012 11:14

DS is 5months and spends most of the time sleeping. During the day. At night he's an awkward little person.

Plus DH is looking after him before he goes to work...

Like redwhite during DH's work it's this or shouting at the tv for some adult company.

hoops997 · 31/05/2012 11:14

I'm on my phone at work Smile

HipHopOpotomus · 31/05/2012 11:14

I'm on MN while I am at work.
I work in an office at a desk, with a computer - I flip in and out during the day. It probably takes a little longer than I would admit, but I think of it as my ciggie break (I don't smoke). I admit I am a little bored at work these days.

When I'm at home I'm just too busy, though I might log on via iphone on a quite night.

When I'm off work I very rarely log on.

Iwannamovenow · 31/05/2012 11:16

I'm a sahm, ds2's asleep so i'm messing about on my phone.

DamnBamboo · 31/05/2012 11:19

Surreal entertainment sums it up for me quite nicely.

So far this week I hold hully personally responsible for a tea-stained cushion and an almost irretrievalbe laptop screen due to unexpected chortling.

Generally speaking, I find it to be good laugh and so it's probably best I only log on in the evenings or else I'd be fired

Had surgery and got to sit at computer to do last of Uni work. Posting is much easier than 2,500 on inter professional collaborations..

SerialKipper · 31/05/2012 11:22

Another one with mobility and everything else difficulties. I post very sparsely, but lurk much of the day as it's my main contact with the outside world. So yes, especially even AIBU is part of my lifeline.

And I get that weird thing of being heavily involved in a thread (eg the current ructions), and then realising I can't find it in Threads I'm On because I haven't actually posted.

jen127 · 31/05/2012 11:29

what else would you do at work ! I am the queen of multi- tasking

CailinDana · 31/05/2012 11:31

My routine is usually: Get DS some food, MN while he eats it, Stick the washing on, play with DS until he starts saying "No, no, no" (which means, go away I want to play on my own), MN until he gets bored and wants to do something else, fill the dishwasher, stick it on, MN while DS empties the pot cupboard (as he has just seen me dealing with pots), Tidy up a bit with DS's "help", give DS more food, make myself a coffee, MN while he eats and I drink. Put DS down for his nap, MN the whole time he's sleeping. Get DS up, give him his lunch, go out for a few hours, come back, MN, tidy up after the day, play with DS, stick CBeebies on, MN till DH comes home. So I'm never on MN for very long each individual time but I go on often.

Jins · 31/05/2012 11:32

I'm self employed and part of my business plan involves keeping up to date with social trends

DamnBamboo · 31/05/2012 11:37

Jins if that's true, that's fab.

My step-step-daughter has a job where she has to surf you tube and pay attention to twitter. Digital media marketing or something like it. Quite interesting I imagine.

She really does post the most fabulous links

Jins · 31/05/2012 11:38

It's very true - I wrote my own business plan Grin

I'm hardly going to discipline myself anyway!

AdventuresWithVoles · 31/05/2012 11:39

DC interrupt what I'm doing constantly.
I would like to go out to work, play piano, inventory things, tidy up, find stuff to Ebay, chase up family history. But it's all too frustrating to do in 90 second bursts. So I MN.

That's the weekends, today I am just pure & simply dossing. My alternatives are items as above and self-assessment taxes (woohoo - Not).

EldritchCleavage · 31/05/2012 11:40

What SurgeonsMate said.

FartBlossom · 31/05/2012 11:40

I do that too Grin

FunnyLovesTheJubilee · 31/05/2012 11:40

2 screens hully? I like yer style

GinPalace · 31/05/2012 11:44

I post when I am working from home, flip in and out when I hit a boredom moment or need a change of thought, then flip back again, It probably takes more of my time than I admit realise, but so long as I get my work done and stay sane I'm happy. :)

neverquitesure · 31/05/2012 11:44

DC and I are all poorly at the moment so my MNing has been at an all time high these past few days since we are stuck on the sofa anyway Sad

I tend to be an on/off MNer, but on a normal MN day I browse the boards on my phone whilst having a coffee or whilst sitting in a dark cupboard playing hide and seek or whilst settling grumpy children at bedtime.

Pascha · 31/05/2012 11:45

Bugger all else to do on this tropical island with good looking slaves fanning me and bringing ice cold alcohol all the time...

DailyMailSpy · 31/05/2012 11:49

I'm a student/sahm and I use my phone to go on mumsnet, so in-between housework/studying/ while I'm on the toilet I'll reply to posts in active convos.

cheeseandpineapple · 31/05/2012 11:54

Mainly work from home, two screens for me too, plus I can touch type, really helps with work but probably means my MN posts are too long as I can type almost as fast as I can burble.

Lentilly, I thought you were a bit harsh on OP. I've wondered about this too, I've gone from virgin MNer to hard core addict in a matter of weeks, it's scarily compulsive being on this site.

HRHBumpingFuglies · 31/05/2012 11:54

I work odd hours and when I'm on MN I'm doing housework at the same time, so very productive. It helps that I have four hands and two pairs of eyes. Simple really Smile
