They are not bleedin insignificant!

they are the head of a whole system of class and suppression and heridtiary bloody privilege

Nothing wrong with aspiring to be a footballer, but children need to know that it is EXTREMELY difficult to get to the top of the game. It is not kicking a ball around a pitch, it takes, as you said, dedication and a lot of hard work.

A wag is a WifeAndGirlfriend - Colleen Rooney type person, famous for being married to a footballer.

ThePopsicleKat · 31/05/2012 23:25

I bloody love you, Hully.

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:26

thank god popsicle. Mostly I feel so alone.

I had something else to say but i've forgot it

my daughters school is going monarchy mad tomorrow, bunting galore!
She's going in dressed in red white and blue and to hell with the po faced Republicans!

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:28

that doesn't really have a point does it?

Apart from fuck the masses.

MmeLindor. · 31/05/2012 23:29

Yes, they are head of class system, but I think that the likes of Cameron and his Eton/Cambridge/Oxford cronies (and I include the Labour party in this) are more of a danger to our country.

We should insist that anyone who wants to be elected to parliament has to work for at least 10 years first, in a PROPER job, not some nambypamby political party office job.

wild · 31/05/2012 23:29

Hully for starting this thread

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:30

Yes, they are head of class system, but I think that the likes of Cameron and his Eton/Cambridge/Oxford cronies (and I include the Labour party in this) are more of a danger to our country.

THEY ARE ALL PART OF THE SYSTEM, they all reinforce the status quo and support each other.

Come on, I know you know this

JellyBoatsAndPirates · 31/05/2012 23:30

Not read the rest of the thread, but just wanted to say - don't be so bleedin' miserable!! Grin Any excuse for a party, and all that.
Hang some Union Jack bunting, neck copious amounts of wine and play some patriotric songs, singing along uproariously.
Grin

MmeLindor. · 31/05/2012 23:32

Yes, yes, but Lizzie throws a good party.

And looks natty in a headscarf.

Gotta love her, hulls. You really do.

Have some of my Wine and [choc] and lets have a Jubilee party.

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:34

Serious point alert:

It's just because Di's death is contemporaneous that no one wants to believe it.

We don't struggle with all the other murders eg Princes in the Tower etc do we? Cos they are comfortably distanced by history. Think on.

That is it Mme, when a child aspires to be like his favourite footballer, it is a great opportunity to inspire them to work hard.

When a child wants to be like President Obama, again, a chance to remind them of the importance of working hard to achieve their dreams.

But it a child wants to be like the queen, what can you tell her? Afraid you were born a commoner, my girl, no matter how hard you work or your talent, you can never be the Queen. Oh, unless you focus on shagging a royal. What is the difference between fawning over Kate or a wag? Aren't they really the same thing, women who are given importance because of their husband/partner? Neither Kate nor a wag should be a role model for any girl...

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:36

No, it won't do. I will never ever ever ever ever pretend that reality that stuffs the masses isn't what it is.

OP posts:
MmeLindor. · 31/05/2012 23:37

Do you know what, I don't really care.

I mean, I would care on behalf of two young lads who mourned for the mother, but if it was an accident or not, it does not touch me.

It feels like history already.

TuftyFinch · 31/05/2012 23:38

Gully.
I do agree.
But.
I think anyone who gets to the top and has a hand in running the country is shit. There isn't one politician in Q Time that I think 'hmm, yes, valid point' because they're all justvtowing the line.
Or, towing the line. They've got their eye on the prize. Because the good ones don't get to the top. The good ones won't play the game.
It's self selecting.
The chaff fall away not because they're chaff but because they're not wheat.

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:38

Well you should care. This is our and our children's and their children's lives.

We ARE history.

OP posts:
MmeLindor. · 31/05/2012 23:39

oh, I didn't say that Kate is a role model, or that the Queen is.

They are just there. I don't admire them. I don't dislike them.

I think they bring tourist (and with them jobs) to the country.

Although from what I saw last weekend, the only people working in the hospitality industry in London were Eastern Europeans.

Not being racist, just stating facts. My American friend commented on the fact that she hadn't been served by a Brit all weekend.

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:39

yy tifty, but thatis a separate point

OP posts:
wild · 31/05/2012 23:40

yy, it amazes me how events are being rewritten

Flatbread · 31/05/2012 23:41

The chaff fall away not because they're chaff but because they're not wheat. Huh? What does that mean? Confused Grin

MmeLindor. · 31/05/2012 23:41

but I don't care.

Why should I? I didn't know her. I didn't mourn her. And I don't believe in conspiracy theories anyway.

The whole outpouring of grief was so strange, it left me untouched. Perhaps cause I was living abroad at the time.

TuftyFinch · 31/05/2012 23:41

I know.
I'm addled.
It was in response to an earlier post.
Then it moved quickly.
Now I look silly.
Nevermind.

TuftyFinch · 31/05/2012 23:42

Flatbread. I made it up.
But I like it. I know what I meant.

Hullygully · 31/05/2012 23:45

I knew what you meant my darling tifty, and I agree. Anyone that wants actively to be a politician should be automatically disbarred because they want self-aggrandisemnt etc.

It' s not just about Di's death, that is but a small part, MMe. And as for not caring, let us remember: In order for evil to triumph etc
