aibu to think someone who is size 8 is not 'curvy'

I'm so sick of seeing slim celebs described as curvy!! It sends out such a bad message to young girls. Don't get me wrong I think these celebs look great & if I had their bods I'd be flaunting it in a bikini all the while , but just cos they have big knockers does not make them curvy!! I am a size 14 and not jealous at all I would describe myself as curvy, someone who is a size 8 imho is slim.

Off topic a bit but relevant because of the impact it has on children but has anyone seen the Dove advert? The one saying little girls get older and don't want to go to gymnastics any more because they become self conscious?

I think you can if you are relatively short, my 5ft 2in aunt is a perfectly proportioned woman, she's just small.

Not the narrow hipped more boyish figure that taller size 8's would have.

Monkeymoma..she is real alright... (and with waist length natural blonde pre raphaelite hair too... ) she actually hates her figure tho.. impossible to find dresses and tho she is a very pretty , and clever kid, no one ever looks at her face......

I have suggested she funds her way thro university in September via page 3 but she thinks I'm being silly! (I would!!!!!)

Curvy is a shape, boobs, comparatively small waist, bum. Sleek and shapely. It does not mean fat. Most 'larger' women are lumpy with no curves at all.

Um I was a size 8 and now I'm more of an 8 to 10 - I'm very very curvy because I'm 5ft 1.

i used to be a size 8 on top with 30e bust waist of 24inches andsize 10 on bottom, i have always had a jlo bum

so yes you can be curvy and be a size 8

you can be curvy a size 6 or 18 its having a shape that curves not just a big bust and bum

it works both ways kylie is described as curvy and so is adele neither are
