I'm so sick of seeing slim celebs described as curvy!! It sends out such a bad message to young girls. Don't get me wrong I think these celebs look great & if I had their bods I'd be flaunting it in a bikini all the while , but just cos they have big knockers does not make them curvy!! I am a size 14 and not jealous at all I would describe myself as curvy, someone who is a size 8 imho is slim.

I always think curvy is a euphemism for fat. I have not seen it used in the media to describe thin women.

Curvy is not a nice word for fat!

If a woman is slender, so not fat, but still with curves, what is she called by media if she's not "curvy"?

I'm a size 14 to 16. Small waist, biggish boobs and a fat ass. So I'm quite curvy (but still a bit fat!)

If your a size 8 your obviously going to be slim and could be curvy. There should be two types of curvy, slimcurvy and chunkycurvy!

when slim celebs are described of curvy I think "oh great I don't look like that I must just be fat if SHE'S curvy!"

I'm sure all you lucky slimcurvys wouuld be kind enough to just be called slim and leave us big'uns with the curvy title!

When I was an 8 (in the mists of time) I had a 'proper' figure - boobs and hips same size and waist 10 inches smaller. Now its pretty much the opposite!

I'm a size 6 but I have boobs and a bum and a belly. I'm not straight up and down at all, I just have small shoulders and a small frame in general.

Yabu I am a size 8-10 but I have hips, a fairly small waist and biggish boobs. Def not straight up and down just have a small frame.

I am more curvy when size 8-10 than when I'm a size, at a size 8-10 I go out and in and out again, at size 14 the in bits get filled in and I'm LESS curvy

some size 8s are up and down and have boyish figures, some are very curvy, christina ricci is TINY and very curvy! Similarly some larger ladies are anything but curvy!

FFS slim woman can be curvy and "real"

actually, IMO its very RARE for larger woman to be curvy as in coke bottle shaped, some plus sized models are but they don't tend to be typical shapes for their size they often look like enlarged slim ladies if that makes sense

my DD2 who is 18, is a size 8 but with J cup boobs! Nightmare when trying to buy dresses but she is most definitely curvy!! And gorgeous..

My stats are 40-29-39. Bit on the chubby side (at 5ft7) but definitely curvy.

Aged 20, they were 37-23-34. Lovely and slim - still decidedly curvy.

'Curves' have nothing to do with dress size. You are being sizeist and rather ignorant. Curves are about body proportion. You can be 6' 0" and have the same waist to hip ratio as someone who is 5'2". Both would have completely different dress sizes but would still be just as curvy.

I am a size 4 - 6. I am definitely curvy. I 'm kind of wondering what you would call my boobs and bum if they aren't curvy. 28F here. Can all us 'not curvy people' have a new word seeing as you want to redefine the word that best describes us?

As for the usual Marilyn thing... Marilyn had measurements that would equate to a modern date 6-8. She is very similar to Scarlett Johanson in her height and figure. Its thought to be connected to indicators of fertility. Marilyn was a perfect 0.7. She was most definitely curvy by any definition of the word.

When I was an old fashioned size 8, probably size 4 nowadays I was curvy, with a proper waist and boobs and hips I am 5,2. think the stats were 32,22,34
