To find it really annoying when people call others 'entitled' on MN

It's really patronising and just said to be confrontational in many threads. Never heard that word so over used!

haha wonder what THIS is in response to?

How entitled of you to think this. Grin

Petsinmyroyalpudenda · 30/05/2012 15:41

You are being entitled thinking you can tell us what to post!

BumpingFuglies · 30/05/2012 15:43

YABU and entitled.

The End Grin

Pandemoniaa · 30/05/2012 15:44

Patronising? How clever of you to notice!

MissFaversham · 30/05/2012 15:51

Come on now, spill the beans, what's been going on?

Surely I'm entitled intitled to know Grin

BumpingFuglies · 30/05/2012 15:51

Actually I think it's "widely" used, as are lots of other words. MN has its own ecosystem if you like, where everything seems condensed and magnified. I wouldn't say it's patronising though.

Which thread cockwomble?

Moln · 30/05/2012 15:54

Some people are entitled though.

I have no clue what this thread is about mind, do can't comment on the entitlement of the accused entitleder (or should it be entitledee?)

KellyElly · 30/05/2012 15:55

Well you are all entitled (Grin) to post what you like, just as I am entitled to find it patronising and a little bitchy. MissFaversham nothing directed at me, I've just seen it on a lot of threads recently and it seems to be a way of people having a bit of a passive aggressive dig at each other. Just my observation :)

OP posts:
lisaro · 30/05/2012 15:59

It's not passive aggressive, it's quite blunt and descriptive. Though probably not as blunt as spoiled bastard.

skrullandcrossbones · 30/05/2012 16:02

YANBU. Especially as they usually mean the opposite of what they're saying.

  • poster claims that other people should do something for her
  • everyone piles on and cries 'you're entitled!'
  • actually they mean 'you're not entitled to special treatment' or 'you think you're entitled but you're not.'

annoys me a bit.

Ormiriathomimus · 30/05/2012 16:04

Oh but some people just are. Or not in fact as skrull has just pointed out Grin

KellyElly · 30/05/2012 16:15

skrullandcrossbones that's exactly what I mean!

lisaro spoiled bastard is definatley blunt Grin

I believe the OP's thought process may have come from this thread.

KellyElly · 30/05/2012 16:32

I wasn't just referring to just one thread. Your use of the word was one time in many many threads I have read in the last few days.

OP posts:
Cockwomble · 30/05/2012 16:33

My use was fully justified I think. Tis very entitled to expect the world to revolve around you as you're pregnant.

KellyElly · 30/05/2012 16:37

I don't think she was suggesting the world should revolve around her just that people should have some manners and not barge at her with their trolley. When you are pregnant people are generally a bit kinder to you - offering seat on the tube etc. It's not entitled to expect someone not to barge you out of the way with their trolley pregnant or not?!

OP posts:
Cockwomble · 30/05/2012 16:39

It's not entitled to expect someone not to barge you out of the way with their trolley pregnant or not?!

Of course not, it's very rude and bad mannered (I did say that btw on the thread).

The entitled part is that the OP thought it was more important as she was pregnant. It's just as rude to ANYONE, like you say, pregnant or not.

KellyElly · 30/05/2012 16:40

Anyway, whether you think it is or it isn't (your opinion) I still find the use of the word entitled bloody annoying Grin
