is nothing to do with a hotel's fault, and shouldn't be put in as a stick to beat it with and warn others away?!
How the heck is that a valid fault of the hotel?!
Or am I going crazy? Smile

twilight my apologies then for misunderstanding you.

underthepalmtrees · 29/05/2012 22:22

Jeez. I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall with her (she's on another forum and I'm trying to HELP her with the bloody thing and get some perspective - NOT by being rude)
A further AIBU - is it unreasonable of me to tell her to ask her if the original complaint included too much seaweed on the beach, sangria wasn't made the right way etc and if so she's getting too bogged down in stupid detail?!
Or should I be accused of working for the hotel agency?!
I can write, and I'm trying to HELP you, you muppet!!!
this is where mumsnet needs a banging head against a brick wall emoticon
steps away from computer as is getting too sucked into arguments again

Are you the one talking to her on NM? Noticed it earlier, didn't read much of it though. She seems to almost enjoy having something to complain about. My Dad is just like that, it's maddening, just give up whilst you still are sane!

underthepalmtrees · 29/05/2012 22:46

I think I'm starting to lose my marbles. Grin As you say, I think she must just be one of those people who needs to complain about anything and everything!!

OMG I have just hunted out the NM thread.

There are about 5 posters on there which are offering sound and balanced advice. They are getting so much flack because they don't concur with 100% of what OP has written.

I want to bang my head against a brick wall reading it. I want to register and help but it really isn't worth it.

Things is every single post on that thread agrees with the fact that she has not got what she is expecting.
Every single post agrees that she has grounds to complain.
Posters are just trying to guide her in the right things/priority to complain about/what should be expected (and indeed very very likely to have been advertised) for an out of season holiday booking.
She just won't accept any of it.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 30/05/2012 00:52

Oh and where she com[plains about the sangria needing spirits. She goes on to post an appropriate recipe which then says at the end "brandy may be replaced with lemonade/soda water/7up" or words to that effect...therefore supporting the argument against her

Ouch my head is bleeding from all the banging on the wall...

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 30/05/2012 01:03

TBH she does not sound well ,and I think it's probably best if people don't engage with her - because it will just feed into the situation .

underthepalmtrees · 30/05/2012 19:30

Think you're right Nanny - I've given up now. My head was hurting from all that head banging Grin
Just noticed her Twitter feed on the blog too and had a look - wow. She's one angry lady who seems to not be happy unless she's got something to rant and moan about...

She changed it, it was more hilarious before. Especially the part where she was repeatedly horrified at DOGFISH being served, because presumably she thought dogfish is made of dog meat.

confusedpixie · 01/06/2012 22:45

The thread has been deleted now (on NM). Checked the cache copies and there was nothing there, so I'm assuming she asked for it to be removed as too many people were giving her decent advice that contradicted her ranting Hmm

The dogfish pictures are still on her site with a caption about it being DOGFISH Wink

That complaint list in full:

Calamari - unsuitable for children, apparently. They don't like cheese either.

Lunch not being served at 3pm shock!

Cheap AI only serves drinks in small glasses!

Spanish people should eat their dinner at 6:30pm the dirty, dirty, foreign, bastards. (After lunch at 3pm, obviously) The chefs can just get in early to cook me mine if they like.

Hotel staff all foreigners.

Sangria not spiked with vodka, as it is in Essex, the spiritual home of Sangria.

Beach had seaweed, we have seaweed allergy, oh noes.

The sea water was very salty.

Not enough bars, shops, restaurants in the 'quiet resort' we booked.

Spain is hot.

They eat dog! (fish) As an animal lover, was absolutely disgusted, and called the local RSPCA but when I picked up the phone it was just nonsense and gibberish and couldn't understand a word they were saying,

Hotel advertised as under construction not completed yet.

Still too many foreigners.

There was man jelly for dessert.

Plane was late.

Pooella for dinner.

Too many babies in the hotel.

Nasty foreign food made us unwell.

Just not good enough for the two and six I paid.
