is nothing to do with a hotel's fault, and shouldn't be put in as a stick to beat it with and warn others away?!
How the heck is that a valid fault of the hotel?!
Or am I going crazy? Smile

Cinny: I'm the one who mocked the TOWIE, you may notice I posted underneath that I was saying 'ha' to her comments on it. She said that she felt too old (fair enough) for an unpaid extra part and implied that actually what she wanted was a spoken part.
She wrote it as if she personally knew the casting person and explained to her what SHE wanted from TOWIE. TOWIE is a huge TV show (unfortunately) and she's trying to get a part for publicity of her friend's beauty thing. She's a nobody in the showbiz world so TOWIE are unlikely to offer her that, yet that's what she's after.
She should have just gone for the unpaid extras role because at least she can say she was on it.

When we lived in Cyprus we used to spend a lot of weekends (off season) at a hotel in Pahos. Used to make us laugh - the hotel had 'Beach' in the title and it didn't have one! What it had was a mini cliff edge, sheer 2 ft drop onto the seaweed. God the smell . They used to clear it up in high season - but that just made the 2 ft drop into a 4 ft drop!

MamaMaiasaura · 29/05/2012 09:54

LtEveDallas - please can you copy and paste my apparant piss taking of her birth experience or take back you post accusing me of such.

LtEveDallas · 29/05/2012 09:55

Mama, I apologise - The post that I really thought was off was by HauntedLittleLunatic, not you. Then when I read your post about the C/Section I forgot you didn't write the one before, sorry.

she went to nethuns, telling of her horrific holiday where they were much more sympathetic, obviously

Methe · 29/05/2012 13:02

Had she had her eyebrows tattooed on?

oldraver · 29/05/2012 13:51

Crikey, she is certainly a glass half full empty person

HauntedLittleLunatic · 29/05/2012 14:30

The holiday obviously didn't live up to her expectations.

It's a shame tho, cos she appears to have dramatised her experiences it takes away from the seriousness of the negative experience she obviously had.

I was really ill with a stomach upset for 2 days due to the rubbish food and my blood pressure was high due to all the stress and uneccessarily overload of added salt to the food.

How could she know the latter? Did she take a blood pressure monitor with her? I'm assuming she didn't see a Dr out there as there are no complaints about that...

Like I say she has obviously written a - potentially justified negative review of her holiday...it just seems a bit extreme and dramatised detracting from the serious message she wants to give...

I'm going to be devil's advocate re seaweed as I spent many summers as a teenager working in hotels in the med.
A lot of hotels own part of the beach and are responsible to keep it clean etc.

Every spring there is a massive beach cleaning operation because the beach can be (in some places) literally covered with seaweed, so much that you can't see the sand. The rough sea and winds during the winter bring it all out on the shore. So the white sand beaches you see in brochures take a lot of work to be achieved.
After that, every night, there are little grater type vehicles that go up and down the beach in order to stir the sand and have it nice and ready for the customers the next day.

If you booked a hotel which advertised a golden beach and you found that beach to have a 2 inch layer of seaweed over the sand, then you'd be a bit put off, wouldn't you?

Haven't read the blog and can't comment on the rest of the complaints really, but this is something I have experienced first hand.

MamaMaiasaura · 29/05/2012 14:46

twilight how can you play devils advocate when you've not read blog Confused

twilight3 · 29/05/2012 14:48

I have read the original thread and the mocking re seaweed on the beach, which is the title of this present thread, no? Confused

MamaMaiasaura · 29/05/2012 14:50

You said u havent read the blog in last post

twilight3 · 29/05/2012 14:51

yes, i read the original t-h-r-e-a-d, not b-l-o-g. What is it that you don't understand? And how is this relevant to everything else I'm saying?

SiSiTD · 29/05/2012 15:03

Okay, so I read it. I'm speechless, she appears to be incredibly high maintenance. Why would anyone go on a cheap, out of season holiday and expect so much. Also, her birth blog is a bit odd. I understand that she may have had a horrible experience however, her attitude in the hotel blog leads me to believe that perhaps she is just feeling some what self entitled and just needs any reason to cause a fuss - as someone who has suffered medical negligence on two accounts in different hospitals I would not have broadcasted it on the internet - particularly if she is taking legal or civil action she should be careful what she is saying.

MamaMaiasaura · 29/05/2012 16:34

That was for twlight

twilight3 · 29/05/2012 16:44

e? I don't understand what this means.. Can you explain please? Also do you have some personal problem with me, you seem to be attacking me but everything you say has no relevance whatsoever to the substance of my post.
