IASFNBU.

IASNFBU.

No one can honestly say that they do not need a good few hours works to sit and get their photos in oredr.

No one.

No one.

No one.

Can get in the way of what I'm declaring.

I'll put RL money on it 37pence.

Grin it is so satisfying, isn't it, TheUnMember.

I even have a system for our wardrobes. in mine, it's trousers on the bottom, tops on the top, organised by least to most favourite.

headfairy · 28/05/2012 21:35

digital ones are in year order. Some are even divided in to seasons.

I pretend the paper ones don't exist as they are from another century.

Yes. Yes. Yes. And I can't bear it if my daughter matches up socks because she doesn't put them together the right way.

Hulababy · 28/05/2012 21:42

My photos are VERY organised.

They are all - literally thousands of them - stored on my computer in a pictures folder. Within that folder are sub folders - holidays, days out, DD, family, friends, etc. Within those are more folders - one folder per holiday all labelled and dated, DD's is n age order - folder for each year.

Once a year I create a photo book of key things for that year and have it printed. These are on the bookcase. I also have a photobook created for each holiday too.

youarekidding · 28/05/2012 21:42

Mine are in a photo box for all my travelling abroad and working abroad ones. Each country and season is in a seperate part and there are dividers. I then have albums and they are in order. There are albums for different things too - holidays, DS general baby pictures, DS through the years, me from baby to adult hood, my dancing photos.

The I have the ones since things went digital and I went digital way after the rest of civilisations. There folders entitled weddings and within that a seperate one for each wedding attended, the birthdays folder with DS 1st,2nd etc, and an Xmas one, then theres a random one, a views one, holidays, etc tec and each files has smaller files in it.

Photos not bad actually, in some sort of order...

youarekidding · 28/05/2012 21:45

Oh and I'll admit my DS' toy boxes are al la hectate too

McHappyPants2012 · 28/05/2012 21:46

i have no photos all digital

lifesalongsong · 28/05/2012 21:55

amillionyears - I probably print about 1,000 photos a year. I take loads more but only print the best ones. They are a mix of everyday stuff and holidays and outings.

Actually I'd be interested to hear how many photos others take, I have no idea whether I take a lot but I do look at them and often flick through the albums. I keep them in the spare room.

Jenny70 · 28/05/2012 21:57

I am not quite at HecateTrivia level of organisation, but I will be there soon - really I will.

All photos downloaded from device, sorted into orderly folders (YYYY MM DD description of event) and best shots are labelled so if I search for child's name I get hits of thier best photos from various days out etc.

Hard copy: done in albums on a shelf, photos all labelled, put in context (ie. blurb about day out, what we did, best bits etc) & dated etc to last Christmas (or leadup to Christmas). I actually only did Aug-Nov 2011 today, so am hoping to have rest done "soon".

AND all digital up to last month backed up on external hard drive, and key events (baby's births, best 100 shots from each year) uploaded to an online backup place.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 28/05/2012 21:58

I read the thread title as "plots in order" and thought that I lost mine long ago... Grin

Anniegetyourgun · 28/05/2012 22:01

Btw I seem to be the only pedant person who's noticed that the letters in the word "order" in the OP were also, ahem, disordered. Was waiting for someone else to point it out so I didn't seem terminally sad, but couldn't stand it any longer.

Hulababy · 28/05/2012 22:02

lifesalongsong - I take loads. I have just under 28,000 files in my photograph folders. That includes all my photos since digital plus some scanned ones from pre digital years. It doesn't however include all the ones I take for school - but there are 100s of them too. In the last 3 years since getting a DSLR I have taken even more. I take photos every week, often every day.

Hulababy · 28/05/2012 22:04

Yes - all backed up regularly here too, plus have several of best on FB and Flickr just incase.

And my laptop screensaver is my entire photo albums so see a selection in random order a lot, and have a digital photoframe where I have recent ones on.

HecateTrivia · 28/05/2012 22:09

ah, it's Chaos she's the new Cod we just translate as we go Grin

lifesalongsong · 28/05/2012 22:27

Hulababy - I like the idea of photo albums as a screensaver - is it easy to set up? I'd like a DSLR but I'df ind it bulky to carry around, I like being able to have a small camera in my handbag all the time.

Tidybush · 28/05/2012 22:29

Thanks a bunch Chaos

DD1 is 18 next month and I had the brilliant idea of making a photo book featuring each year of her life so far.

You've just reminded me that I've only got as far as looking at photo albums online and staring hard at the massive box of assorted photos in the hope that the 20 million pictures (including 10 million of landscapes, old buildings and assorted zoo animals) in there will somehow sort themselves into some semblance of order.

the good news is that I've got 2006 - 2012 on my computer Grin
the bad news is that I lost 2004-2005 when I upgraded my laptop and realised many weeks later that I'd pressed the wrong button when transfering files from one to the other and had deleted them all Sad

I've got to start sorting them out now haven't I?

SandraSue · 28/05/2012 22:32

Depends if you mean on the PC or real life.
On the PC they've all got folders and sub-folders ( Hmm ) whereas the physical ones are all over the place. Such lunacy! I never have time to sort them! The only reason the PC ones are sorted is because I have tons of them and sort them as soon as they get transferred.

BertieBotts · 28/05/2012 22:33

My profile pictures are in date order.

The ones on my computer are, if I click the handy little thing that puts them like that.

Empusa · 28/05/2012 22:40

All my photos are perfectly organised. There are only three things I am obsessive about having organised, my music, my photos and my books.

Especially the digital versions of all of these.

amillionyears · 29/05/2012 07:32

I thought this thread would help me if i ever got to them.
All its done is shown me how much work and hours it would take.
Thanks Chaos!
