To let my cats sleep in the Moses Basket?

DD no longer uses her Moses Basket, has been in her big cot for weeks and before that, a travel cot. I don't have storage space in my house, so intended to offer it to any friends who wanted or needed it, however a lot of my friends who are pg are pg with their first and have doting GPs and such like and therefore it is not needed or wanted.

I suppose I could Gumtree / Freecycle it, but in the meantime, I had put some old towels in that I no longer use, and it was in the corner of my bedroom that houses the hoover, DDs outgrown clothes etc.

Well, since then, my two cats have taken to sleeping in it (the never even looked at it before when DD was using it). They curl up together and just look bloody divine.

AIBU to keep it, for them?

My DH was furious I gave DS's Moses Basket to a pregnant colleague.

He had promised it to the cat. Not sure DH or the cat have ever really forgiven me

My huge tabby beast used to sleep in the baby's car seat, I think he regarded it as some kind of special cat-sized armchair. Rather shamingly I used to just give it a quick shake before plonking DS2 into it! ( crap mum emoticon ) Wink

Don't worry QOD, mine will end up the same no doubt. Shame they don't have a 'restore to factory settings button'

I do wonder if I should be more uptight re: cat hair, but they are shorthair and I hoover and sweep enough, so tough if DD has the odd cat hair on her sleepsuit from rolling on the floor.

YANBU. Clever them for making use of an unwanted article of furniture! I have a cat and dog and constantly have to pick hairs off DS (8 weeks) - including out of his mouth. Blush I just have to hope the early exposure will make him an iron man when it comes to allergies...

Yes, that was my thinking....exposure to dirt and germs etc.
