look like fun
busy but seaside in nice day is fab

tartyflette · 26/05/2012 20:21

Yep. It's not even a beach! Pebbles, not sand.

Redbindy · 26/05/2012 20:22

Looks great.

LeBFG · 26/05/2012 20:23

Agree. Hell indeed.

MeKathryn · 26/05/2012 20:23

YANBU I love the seaside and don't mind a few people but that looks horrible. Hopefully an out of the way beach in Northumberland won't be like that tomorrow Wink

LeBFG · 26/05/2012 20:24

Hell's probably less crowded though

ovenchips · 26/05/2012 20:24

YANBU. Hell on pebbly, heaving earth.

rocket74 · 26/05/2012 20:25

totally! I live in Brighton and won't go anywhere near the main drag in this weather! Its really not so bad further into Hove or towards Marina - but for some reason most visitors have an ability to go no further than 100metres from the main bit!!

yellowraincoat · 26/05/2012 20:26

It looks crowded because of the way it's shot. It's not as if it's so heaving that you can't move. Brighton on a sunny day is fun, nice atmosphere, people having fun.

If you don't like it, don't go. Why be negative about it?

SparklyCloud · 26/05/2012 20:26

Thought exactly that when i saw the picture today in the paper. Why would anyone normal want to be that close to so many strangers, with no personal space at all?

DukeHumfrey · 26/05/2012 20:28

Should have gone to Aberavon. Beautiful sandy beach, stretching for miles, plenty of room and ignore the steelworks and the somewhat dodgy estate behind.

Vagaceratops · 26/05/2012 20:28

It looks much nicer in Longsands.

Yep, horrible. May I suggest Bridlington for those who prefer long, sandy beaches with both crowded and uncrowded bits for fans of both? Walked past a packed bit (some people like that!) - two minutes further on we had loads of space and the option of beachside paddling pool if we'd preferred Grin

northernmonkey · 26/05/2012 20:32

Its where I live and it's fine!!
It doesnt feel that busy when your there at all, and that's just a small section of the beach There is many quiet parts, its just the bars are where that is photographed

youarekidding · 26/05/2012 20:34

It was not like that on the beach I was at today.

It was hot, but with a lovely breeze and the tide was out when we arrived so very sunny too.

I avoid the busy bit though as that beach in Brighton does look like hell on earth!

tartyflette · 26/05/2012 20:35

Does Brighton still have a nudie beach? All those pebbles must be hard on your bare bits.

Psychopsilocybin · 26/05/2012 20:35

The photo titled - Young racegoers enjoying the sun and a few drinks at Haydock in Merseyside this afternoon - did you see the shoes on the girl, left front?! Ouch!

But yes, the image of Brighton is my worst nightmare. I live near the coast so I know all the small beaches unknown to tourists and sometimes locals. Lucky me :o

Psychopsilocybin · 26/05/2012 20:36

Sorry, bold fail there.

5inthebed · 26/05/2012 20:36

Give me a beach in Northumberland any day. Not s crowded and has actual sand.

TartyMcFarty · 26/05/2012 20:38

Those sorts of pics put me right off visiting Brighton. Ever.

scottishmummy · 26/05/2012 20:43

never been to Brighton.hear it's funky

Sirzy · 26/05/2012 20:45

How are you supposed to relax on that beach? Horrible!!

oshuk · 26/05/2012 20:46

Terrifying! I can't imagine anything worse.

Did anyone else zoom in to check out the naked bike ride. The bloke on the left had his bollocks placed nicely on the saddle by the looks of it. Gross!

EggWhiteOmelette · 26/05/2012 20:46

Its only one bit of the beach. If you go a 5 min walk further down towards Hove it isn't half as crowded.

I love Brighton.

oshuk · 26/05/2012 20:47

I saw those shoes Psycho. Not good.

Do you reckon these photos were submitted to the papers or did some random photographer go round taking them?
