In a culture of size zeros showing teenager girls how you should look, I've been really pleased with all the athletes leading by example, the idiot who said this should at least be pulled up and reprimanded.

Dear God, I'd love to be built like either Ennis or her team-mate Louise Hazel.

Typical old fashioned British endurance coaches - I remember it when I was a teenager. If you weren't the tall very thin type, they weren't interested, no matter how much promise you showed. Now distance running is half dominated by tiny Ethiopians sometimes 5 feet tall or less...

But heptathlon requires a more muscular build. Jessica Ennis looks lean and muscular within her body type, and being relatively short, tends to look ever so slightly chunky when judged against someone like Paula Radcliffe.

But Paula Radcliffe would lack the power to do most of the heptathlon events. Its a pointless comment.

What planet is that 'weight critic' on?! We're that used to seeing emaciated sticks in the media that when we see a healthy, peak of fitness, fantastic body we screech and think they're a whale.
