sorry - Daily Fail link

particularly the second woman in but basically all of them. What is the real need to have such low cut/high cut bottoms? Does it make them more aerodynamic or something?

I don't doubt the technique and skill involved in beach volleyball or in any way question its validity as an Olympic sport. However it's the only Olympic sport I can think of that elicits so much "cor blimey/wink wink nudge nudge/look at them stopping traffic" type talk and I think if I were on the team I would prefer a slightly less revealing outfit so the focus could be on the abilities of the sportswomen, not how they look.

But then maybe if I were an Olympic athlete I wouldn't actually care. Because I would be an Olympic athlete :)

Oh and I think the accusations that the players must be a bunch of idiotic attention seekers just because they are wearing these outfits are pretty offensive.

squeaky it's rare that I have tried to run, let alone run on sand......Is there an Olympic wine drinking team? I could bring home gold for GB I reckon. :)

Squeaky yes I have and it is! Which I why I was a bit surprised at the physiques of a couple of the women.

God, I am the World's Worst Feminist.

Is some of the preference for tiny running outfits due to the amount of sweat generated? I understand there's quite a lot of emphasis among competitive runners on having stylish kit as well.

Jeesh - the smallest boobs I've seen in the Mail in a long time!

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 25/05/2012 16:49

Why is it a problem if they wear skimpy outfits?

I don't see what there is to worry about tbh.

Women's volleyball is the sport a lot of secondary school children in our area have got tickets for.

Good luck on the teams being able to concentrate in that get-up, surrounded by a load of hormonal adolescents!

See this kind of showing of flesh doesn't bother me so much. They are toned, fit athletes, running round getting all sweaty and not bothering really how they look or they wouldn't do the sport. Much healthier to see bodies in this way then at a lap dancing club or in a lads mag. I know I'd be happy to have these women as role models compared to the Jordans and TOWIE brigade.
