To think my dd teacher should not have given her a whistle as aparty favour, it's driving me nuts.

DD4 teacher celebrated her birthday at school today, birthdays are big things in the Netherlands. DD comes home with a little present which turns out to be a whistle which she will not stop blowing. How I hate whistles, this is coming from someone who bought her child a drum kit when she was three.

I seem to remember that my dog whistler didn't work very well after it accidentally went in the washing machine. Just thought I'd mention it...

Whistle, not whistler. Duh! (I have just been reading about the artist, Whistler, which may have caused a subconscious typo).

kinkynagbag · 21/05/2012 17:52

ohh the school gives out whistles for filling up a card (be it a reading eating healhty card) EVERY TIME a dam whistle.

personally i think the teachers do it on purpose, as a way of payback.

mirry2 · 21/05/2012 17:55

Just tke it away from her

Pinkiemum · 21/05/2012 18:24

If I took it away she would probably start crying knowing her. Whistles do have a habit of disappearing in this house.

Could you get her to play a "tune" with it, record it and take the recording in to school for show and tell? Share the wealth with the teacher Grin
Or she could do a demonstration with it in class, tell her all rockstars break their whistles at the end, and get her to break it?

Or just hide it? lol

Pinkiemum · 21/05/2012 18:37

Annie they don't do show and tell unfortunately. Considering I had to buy the teacher a present should have bought her a whistle, maybe next year.

Hmmm, does she have a child? Could you regift it to her child? Whistles are only annoying if you're not blowing it! lol

Pinkiemum · 21/05/2012 19:48

I don't think she has a child, I could take my dd to her house he get her to play at the front door, she literally lives 2 minutes from us.
