arrghh !!

DP has just kicked off again, saying it's an embarresment that DD had odd socks on, they are both pink, a slight difference in pattern but only if u get up close.

We have just moved and like other people we often have odd socks.

I often put odd socks on her, it's not like one is black and one is white, .

I think it's quite quirky.

Doesn't matter at all. My son often doesn't wear matching socks as they disappear between the washer and the dryer! Even I don't wear matching socks unless they will be seen

YANBU, I haven't worn matching socks on a regular basis since my mums stopped pairing them for me when I was about 13. If your DP thinks socks should match then I'd leave the sock pairing to him in future.

DH is like this - he cannot stand anyone wearing odd socks, whereas the rest of us just don't care.

Personally I think if you are going to go down the odd sock route you should pick very obviously mismatched ones. Then it looks more obvious that it is a deliberate statement and not just rushing in the morning.

Everyone knows that when you buy children's socks one of the pair fecks off forever and the other one hangs around for eternity, even when it's full of holes, faded and you know for a FACT you've put it in the bin at least eight times and it's crawled out and reinstated itself.

I wear odd socks all the time, no it really doesn't matter in the scheme of things.
Pairing them up is a nightmare, there's always one of a pair missing.

He'd have hated my dd1. She went through a stage of choosing to wear off shoes. I think she grew out of it much quicker for me not worrying and letting her, than if I'd made a fuss.

If ds chooses his own clothes then odd socks are the least of anyone's worry.

YANBU but if DL has spare time he can always do some pairing/hunting for them - where the hell do they go.

I often wear odd socks. If one sock develops a huge hole (which has happened several times lately so I don't know if my feet have developed a fault or all of my socks are wearing out at the same time) then I begrudge throwing away the matching perfectly good sock. So I don't I keep it and when I get another odd sock in that position I pair them up and wear them together for as long as they last.

I don't see anything wrong with this as mostly it doesn't show but DD and DH find it odd.

In fact DH was taking me to task about it at the weekend when I had odd socks on and when I explained that you don't throw away a perfectly good sock because you don't have one to with it he announced that he would! What a profligate attitude!

I've given up. Ds1 and ds2 now wear completely mismatching socks - bright stripes - and very snazzy it looks too!

Obviously when ds1 is at school they're grey - but that's easy because they're not in a pair IYSWIM.

There used to be a shop selling odd socks (they came in 3s) I tell ds they are co-ordinated not odd. How 5 individual socks disappears leaving there 'similar from multipack' but not actually identical friends behind I can't fathom

i insist on odd socks in this house, i have worn odd sock since i was about 12, i buy socks and mix them all up, i do the same for DD1. and i bought these for DD2 only Dp wears matching socks but imho he is wierd

well all have our quirks. i make dp change ds if he puts on trousers i have specifically put away as they are an inch short due to growth spurt. he looks an eejit with short pants and insist he changes him. not important by no means but i dont want him going out like that. so i sympathise with your dp but if its his hang up get him to to dress her or change her socks if it bothers him.

YANBU. I counted thirty odd socks in a pile in our house recently. I have no idea where the other ones have gone (have two toddlers so anywhere is possible). We all wear odd socks now. There aren't enough hours in the day for me to pair them all up or even care anymore.

nobody in this hose wears matching socks, i refuse to pair them up. the dd's wear matching to school but thats it.

YANBU-my washing machine appears to eat socks so odd ones are regular in our house, I think it's quirky t have odd socks

No one in this house wears matching socks DH gets the closest because a lot of his socks are the same, as long as they are the same type of sock ie not one long and one short I don't care

Im the worst one for this! I have socks with days of the week on but really cant be bothered matching them when putting them away. So im often known to wear something like one ' monday' sock and one ' thursday' sock on a .... Sunday hehehe

My parners sock drawer consists of about 10 pairs of black slazenger socks so he cant go wrong

There's a shop in America that sells single socks. So you mix and match odd socks are quirky!

I have watched Ds2 split two pairs so he can wear odd socks but then he is 5. Ds1 will only wear a pair if they are pre joined or in front of his nose when he looks in the sock box, he will regularly wear one of his socks and one of his dads, hes a size 4 his dads a size 8!

I have been known to match up odd earrings - also hoping to pull it off under the headline of "quirky".
