I love the breakfast club too and love the episode of dc based on it, but I think I remembered it being more like the dc episode and less of the sex/drugs!

drew arrives at the leery's to meet jen. joey is holding baby Lillian surrounded by everybody else and drew says "cool. a baby. can i hold it?"

the all respond in chorus "NO!"

As tv baddies go, Dru wasn't a bad one. Abby Morgan was definitely my favourite though!

oh i love dru (didn't know that was how it was spelt ). i think because he really does care for jen's wellbeing he is just shite at feelings. it's sweet.

i didn't like abby. but i didn't liek teh way they killed her off either. not sure why.

Oooooooh I loved Dawson's Creek!!! I am so tempted to buy the boxset now.....

it would be money well spent. this is my second time watching it and i know i will watch it through many more times. teh same with big bang theory. i just never get bored of them.

Disc 1 has arrived. Hmm, I have 4 days off before going away for half term, and I am meant to be doing schoolwork (teacher, not pupil!). Likelihood of that happening???

I also loved Party of Five which was around at the same time and contained similar levels of teen angst as DC and My So Called Life, and it also contained that bloke who ended up in Lost, and Neve Campbell.

I really hated Dawson with a passion, horrid passive aggressive controlling moany little twerp. Loved loved loved Pacey- "I remember everything" .

What age group do you teach, Yomping? If you taught, say, Media Studies to sixth form, you would have a genuine reason to do 'research' for future projects :o

I rented the first series of Party of Five once, it was quite good :) Haven't started My So-Called Life yet, am too embarrassed to admit to DH that I have bought it and I have to watch all episodes of Black Books and The Royle Family DVDs that DH bought me some time ago

Bunnyspoiler - I couldn't be doing with Dawson either, definitely passive aggressive, I still get a teensy bit annoyed when I remember how he tried to guilt trip Joey into staying behind when Pacey was sailing off in his boat I realise that it is slightly worrying that I feel like this about fictional characters in a small show which finished nearly 10 years ago

I've never watched DC, and always wanted to.

I did, however, love My So Called Life, Heartbreak High and The OC.

i used to hate dawson. so whingey and needy and selfish WRT 'his' joey. but actually watching it this time round, from season 4 onwards there is a noticeable change on him. maybe maturity but also, less highly strung about everything not going exactly his way.

i did laugh though in season 5 when he got his first job as an intern and asked the movie director if he wanted to see his movie in the same way a 5 year old asks their favourite uncle if they want to see his picture of a tree.

I loved my so called life. One of my dd's is a massive 30 seconds to mars/jared Leto fan. I have introduced her to his finest hour. I also loved heartbreak high, despite being a mother to 3 when it was aired on bbc2 ;)

I have series 123 on boxset, and the finale DVD, might crack 'em open in a minute after reading this thread. Reminds me how much I was OBSESSED with DC. I used to check out the website, bought the soundtracks... I ordered one DVD from Canada because it was the track played during the 'Mom's bracelet' dance between P&J at the alternative prom Love that episode

Oh and I was in the US for the one of the TV season premieres and had a tantrum in a motel when my DH couldn't find the right channel

It wouldn't be so bad but DC was on telly during my 20s.. Not like I was fanatical teenager or nuffin

And when I see Jackie Florrick on the Good Wife, I still think "Jen's Grams!"

I was a hormonal teen when it was on, that's my excuse I once had an acquaintance tell me that the Busted song 'Dawson's Geek' reminded her of me

Ah, I am enjoying watching DC all over again :-) So well scripted apart from the occasional clunky dialogue which makes you think "surely kids never speak like that!"

And lovely Pacey saying that he made the whole thing up about Miss Jacobs. Sigh.
